"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry
palmer was a pro bowler before he blew his knee out, he's never been the same since.
I'd trade for him but not for more than a 4th, and they will want more than that. if he goes, look for him to land with his former college coach pete carroll with SEA
Let's see, there was another QB with a knee injury issue that had fantastic numbers that we took a look at....does anybody remember Daunte Culpepper ;( I still want to barf every time I think that we had a decision between Daunte and Drew Brees!!!
However I see this differently. Palmer would be stopgap IMO. I actually drank the culpepper coolaid pretty good that offseason we got him. I'm under no such illusions with Palmer.
I'd consider (assuming cba hammered out so trades can happen) some sort of low round 2012 pick that could increase based on performance.
For the record, it would just be to have a viable vet in the mix with Henne and whoever else (draft?)
I'll take a vet as a FA, but I have trouble trading for a guy who's best years seem to be behind him. I still say, draft a young QB and sign Billy Volek to round out the roster.

I don't see carson palmer coming to the dolphins, despite the rumors,
he would no doubt consider heading to the west coast be it with
pete carroll of the seattle seahawks or with jim harbaugh of the 49ers.
There is no way he would come to a dysfunctional organization like
that of the dolphins.
If we could get him for a 5th or 6th rounder, then yes....but Cinci actually wants the guy. So their demand will be ridiculous, probably demand a 1st round pick.

Of course this is contingent on draft developments, but we could get rid of Henna and use Palmer as our #1 for a few years with several developmental QB's on the roster.
In that scenario, trade down a few times, go LARGE with OL (C then G) and 2 QB's (i.e., R3 – R5)
Palmer would be a HUGE upgrade over what we've had and could possibly put us mid tier 2 right away (being competitive but no serious threat to go far in the playoffs). I would bet his game would do well in a totally new (and positive environ).
However, Ocho Dingo tried a similar move and has not yet escaped Cincinnati. This “threat” also makes the Bungles more apt to go QB this year and hence hinder our recovery operations in that department.
The good. The bad. And the ugly. We can’t win for crap with these types of obstacles…

Amazing how neither one of the first round picks played like "franchise" qbs in their championship games. Good thing their TEAMS play will isn't it.
Just sayin'

Your right Leon, dang it your always right. You and JJ and Wanny and Bates and Saban and Cameron and Parcells and Sparano all know the truth. We don't need no stinkin' first round QB.
I have an idea, call Pittsburgh and convince them with your superior intellect that they could save money AND STILL be playing in the superbowl if they trade us Rothlisberger for Henne.
