Does it make him a Hall of Famer?

As much as I can't stand seeing the guy in a green uni,he's probably a HOF'er for what he did here.

I agree with GBOFinFan. I don't think the Superbowl makes any difference. If he was a QB, it might be different. JT has had a long successful career. He's played DE and OLB successfully. I think he's done enough to make it to the HoF..but he's NOT a first ballet candidate.

If and a BIG IF he wins the SB he can go retire as a Jets.

Don't ever ever ever DARE to come retire here.

Mr I sold my sould to the devil for a SB ring. Did Marino do that?

F.ck you Taylor, and your HOF career.

No, but Marino retired early, knowing full well that his team was going nowhere.

To say Taylor sold his soul to the jets is ludicrous...this is business man...as long as the player gave his all while he was here (AND HE DAMN WELL DID)...PLease stop crying like a little baby over players that leave here and experience some success.

You are starting to sound like Lions, Browns, Bills and Bengals fans who constantly cry about what other players and teams are doing...instead of looking at your own teams deficiencies..i.e: Sparano, Lee, No QB (Yes, sorry but your beloved Thigpen is included).

Start focusing on our franchises' shortcomings...they won't improve by calling Taylor a traitor or the Pats cheaters.

IMO JT is a marginal HOF candidate. I’m sure being on a championship team won’t hurt, but he’s nowhere near the player he was 3-4 years ago.

At this point I don’t care. The guy wanted to play and he found a team. Big deal. It’s not like he’s selling secrets to Taliban…

I do believe he will be on the cover of Metro Male soon though.

I am glad to see him get a ring, he has worked hard in his career, he knew it would not happen in a Dolphins uniform, he got smart and joined a team that he knew could get him that. I dont blame him, i liked when he played for us and wished he still did. He was a leader

He was not "THE" leader, though.

Zach Thomas was. Zach Thomas was better than JT. From day one, until he left....he dominated. Peyton Manning called Zach the greatest defender he ever played against.

Zach was always overshadowed by Ray Lewis and Derrick Brooks, though he was just as good as them.

JT is HOF er for sure, he revolutionized the position. Before him, it was huge powerful guys like Bruce Smith and Reggie White that dominated on the ends. Taylor brought speed and athleticism to the positon. Besides his sacks numbers, or interceptions or defensive TD's, JT is going to the HOF....
That being said, I have no respect for the guy as a man, or teammate. He showed no loyalty towards Miami, why should we show any to him...
Let him go into the HOF as jet as far as I am concerned, let him become a Sports hero with no town, like Johnny Damon...
No one can question Taylors ability, I surely will not, just his decisions and character. JT is all about JT, nothing wrong with that, but lets not rewrite the story once he retires... In my opinion Taylor's lack of leadership and selfish attitude probably hurt the phins behind the scenes for years... As we all know he wasnt part of the 11-5 season but he was part of the 1-15...

It's a business Crowder. There is no loyalty from team or player beyond the season being played. He did what he felt he had to do. Let it go.
Hurt the Phins behind the scenes? How? To my knowledge that never happened.

I know you like JT Leon, no disrespect, I have my opinions about it, and i am entitled to them...
JT has shown me through his actions and attitude that he can be difficult, if JT is not happy people knew it. He wound up in Washington for a reason. He wound in NY as a Jet for a reason, He wound up on DWTS, for a reason and against the wishes of his bosses... He had alot of turmoil with Ricky over the years, taking shots at him... JT is JT, big ego, some people like it some people dont, but the bigger the egos and more of them their are, the tougher it is for team success in the locker room...
As others mentioned, a huge difference between who Zach THomas is and who Jason Taylor is as a leader and teammate for the Miami DOlphins.. That is all, one guy did it the right way, and the other guy did it his own selfish way... Football is a team sport.. Zach is the man and JT is not.. Sorry that is just the way I see it.. And as I pointed out earlier, I took nothing away from the guy on the football field...

I seriously don't recall any locker room problems with JT. Every indication I had, and I know I'm not in Miami, is that he was well liked and a community leader also. Maybe I'm wrong but I don't recall what you are saying. As far as DWTS, Parcells ego got in the way.

Crowder...do you not think it possible, that with the bumbling idiots running the show over here, maybe JT was shown little respect by them?

Zach was the man, but he also left for Dallas and I believe would have played for KC if he were not injured.

If Miami had have had more players like JT, we would have won multiple championships.

The Pats had it with Brady,Bruschi and Rodney Harrison.
The Steelers with Ben, Bettis and Polamalu..

We've had Marino, Taylor and Thomas...but never peaking at the same time...since then..well try naming some of our stars.

Maybe if JT would had stuck with playing football instead of playing ballerina , he would get some respect.

When you consider the Hall of Fame, those select players clearly performed at the highest level compared to other players in the league doing the same thing during their career. Of all the linebackers that I can think of at the moment, Ray Lewis is the premier linebacker of his time. Zach Thomas was damn good and was clearly one of the best, however, despite all his success here in Miami, he may never be selected for the Hall of Fame. He should have his number retired though, IMO. He also was "Mr. Defense" for the team, playing with several terrific players that included Taylor, Madison and Surtain.

As for Taylor, some of you guys are giving him a bum rap, but that's your choice. He always seemed to give it his all, and I do believe he was mistreated by the current Dolphin administration. IMO, whether the Jets win their second SB or not, JT will always be a Dolphin and when the time comes he should be hired back for one day so he can retire as a Dolphin. While he is a sack leader, his presence on the field does not compare to the likes of Bruce Smith. JT may not get into the Hall unless he buys a ticket like the rest of us.

Although I can't specifically reference them, I know JT was active in the local community, and is a genuine good person. Don't think badly of him just because he landed another job with a competitor.

That's a good topic. When Zach was let go he wanted to address the media from the Dolphin facility. This was refused him. Now here is one of the best and most loved players in Dolphin history and this regime refused him this request.
Loyalty? What does that mean anyway?
JT had a chance based on a sticky note. He had one chance with another team and made a deal.
Zach had chances with at least two teams, one being NE and one being Dallas. Of coarse he made the right choice for him.
Fact is, we are fans and want our players to be loyal to us, the team, and the community, but it's a two way street.
Loyalty has been way reduced sense FA and that is one big reason I dislike the NFL.
If not for the Phins being in my blood I would stop watching the NFL and turn all of my attention to the College game and MLB.

I think an additional question should be......
if he does get in, is he going to go in as a Dolphin or Jet. Since he would have won the Superbowl with the Jets and they seemed to love him more than us, then I see him going in as a Jet. Not that I really give a rats xxx either way. Just thought I'd bring this up to be chewed on.

You're right Andy. He probably would go in as a Jet.

I don't think he will go in the Hall anyway. The last 3 season he has not been a breath of what he once was and this league is all about "what have you done for me lately".

Knowing him, the jests will go to the Superbowel....JT will have 5 sacks, a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and a TD and be named MVP.....then all those memories of him dominating will come back. He retires.

Hall-of-fame awaits.

Just guessing.

I say all that happens, except the Jets lose anyway, and Aaron Rodgers gets the MVP instead.
