Right now we only have Henne under contract, Pennington and THigpen are both free agents. SO lets see what happens as soon as something is able to happen... I am a Pennington fan, and think he is a great leader, but how do you work a contract with him. I guess it would have to have alot of injury clauses and playing time bonuses in it. Not sure the organization is going to see him as a reliable option. I wouldnt bet against Pennington, just not sure how the Phins see it. SParano likes him alot and the team needs his leadership.. It should be an interesting offeseaon on offense in south beach, I mean Davie....
Yeah we really blew it on Thigpen. if we weren't going to use him we could have moved him for a third or 4th round pick, if we were going to
keep him at least give him a chance as Henne wasn't cutting it. So we basically have to sign a vet and Draft a QB
No the staff blew it with Thigpen, he needs the chance to beat out Henne.
He need's to be resigned for peanuts, and given the offseason to seriously compete against the former. Henne not the only QB being mentored by Pennington.
Hell if Pennington rubbed off any on Thigpen, it could take him to the next level.
Keep all three, draft luck next year, why go out overspend on a subpar QB on the first round this year, and f.ck the rest of our draft, when we can trade down, stock up on thing's of need, then trade up next year and get our man at qb.
STOP thinking about next year, like we will go all the way, instead thing about how to acquire Luck, and complete as much of the rest of team this year.
If you bring in Luck on a stacked team, you get the Matt Ryan Atlanta deal going, but we will be better!
The only one that doesn't bring puke to the top of my throat is Pennington and lets face facts, he has age on him, and a serious physical problem that isn't going away.
As far as the draft, if we don't pick a QB in the 1st we'd better pick Ingram and look like mad for a QB trade.
I'm so sick of trading down and/or seeing DB's, linemen and 'projects/bargains' taken in the first and second round. We have been on that course for 10 years and have gained NOTHING.
DRAFT A QUALITY SKILL POSITION IN THE FIRST ROUND!

Heck all we need is this draft to trade down and finish our O-line.
Daboll said. “I think it’s an extremely important position. He’s going to have a lot on his plate. This is a quarterback-friendly system. He’s going to be able to make a lot of different adjustments at the line of scrimmage, and I’m going to take an active role in being with him in the meetings and getting him to develop the way I think he can develop.”
I don't think that this is a ringing endorsement of Henne...but, I do like the fact that he states his system will be QB friendly, Henne will be able to make adjustments at the LOS, as well as Him (Daboll) taking an active role in getting him to develop.
Henne being required to work and improve to keep his job is a good thing for him and the team in the long run.
Now we just need to get some competition for him and Thigpen....Pennington should not be that guy, period!
I know way to much hate of Thigpen. When I read this well, its s.it like this that makes me a believer of our "Cinderalla man".
When the Philadelphia Eagles sent Pat Shurmur to Myrtle Beach, S.C., to work out a prospect 3 1/2 years ago, the quarterbacks coach wrapped up the 45-minute session with an odd request.
"I want to ask you a favor," Shurmur told Tyler Thigpen. "I'm going to give you one chance to stand at midfield and try to hit the crossbar."
Shurmur pointed to the back of the end zone 60 yards away. Thigpen nodded, took a three-step run-up and threw a dart that hit dead center.
"Wow," Shurmur said. "Think you can do it again?"
"You said I only got one chance," Thigpen said.
Workout over.
How in the heck are you going to say no to that is mindboggling.
I mean Pennington couldnt even get it there, and Henne would have thrown it to a defensive lineman!

Another Translation -
"Were stuck with the Henna experiment for ANOTHER year."

And Jamarcus threw a ball 60 yards from his knees......he's available also......jus sayin
Guys Henne and Thigpen WILL be quarterbacks on this team next year...because we can't trade them! We also can't replace them with free agents...because there will be no free agency.
We can't even sign any of our draft picks, or allow them to work out, train or assign them playbooks because there is no CBA.
All of this trade people or sign people talk is silly and pointless until there is a new CBA.
Daboll can however work with Henne and Thigpen because they are current players with Henne being under contract and Thigpen being under contract until March 4th...he just can't do it at the teams facility after March 4th.
We simply don't have a choice but to keep Henne and Thigpen. Pennington, is done and should not be allowed to remain with the team as a player...if he wants to come back to the Phins, it should be as a coach or nothing...if it's nothing, then we should release him.
The fact is Thigpen put up decent numbers last year in the limited time he played.
I want to give him the time as a starter, this offseason then lets see what he can do. -Mia1
If this is your TRUE hope for the Fins next season, then you really must enjoy being a 6-10 or 7-9 NONPLAYOFF team. This guy had lousy numbers last season and hitting a freaking post from 60 yards in practice...is JUST that: PRACTICE!
That will be the NEW absolute measuring shtick at the combine:
QB’s line up 60 years from a bulls-eye that's 10-feet in the air. If they hit the target -- 1 shot and 1 shot only -- they’re GUARANTEED to be a #1 pick.
It will be freaken awesome.
Some yahoo from South Dakota will probably nail it.
