Mankins one Guard, Incognito the other Guard, and draft Pouncey.

I think Luck could be the next P Manning but am a bit concerned that Mallet could be the next Jim Drukenmiller (remember him?)

Berk, I agree that Mallett has *HUGE* potential to be a bust....

but he reminds me of Dan McGuire. Remember him?

Gotta respectfully disagree on that one.

Every player has some “bust potential” but HUGE on Mallett?

I can’t see that at all.

The kid is already a certified NFL passer – and the only ??? on him is smarts.

Now if you have evidence he’s dull that’s a different consideration.

But I’d take the kid in a micro-second if he’s avail @15.

NO WAY that happens. He will be long gone IMO.

I don’t see Gabbert and him getting out of the top 10.

But hey, I’m just really smart.

Guys, alot of guys in NFL circles are starting to shy away from Mallett. Kiper and McShay are only giving him a 2nd round grade.

Rumors are swirling that he is not capable to make smart decisions and lead his team to victory on final drives....(ehem..sounds familiar).

Ayways, I like the guy...I think he looks like a gunslinger. Guess we will see.

Speaking of dreamin....

Ryan Kahlil will be a FA this year I think (with CBA).

Sign him at C and Tyson Clabo at RT, Incog at G and draft a rookie to compete with Jerry and Garner (if we can resign him).

Great. Knock that rascal down to #15.

Ireland will take him. Just watch. Brilliant move pending.

Mallet:

1.) A more mobile Henne?

2.) A Taller Thigpen?

3.) A Pennington with an arm?

Who knows. Where do they get the 'no smarts' thing. Yea, he sorta blew the bowl game at the end, but he almost single handedly kept them in it. When has Henne ever shown that? Vick blew his playoff game at the end but I don't hear Philly fans clamoring for his head.

Anybody watch much Arkansas football this year? Is the guy an INT machine? You can't tell $h1t from watching ESPN highlights and listening to their hype, heck they think Sanchez is all world.

Almost every game Arkansas lost since Mallet has been there was ended on him making a dumb mistake.

He's not that mobile, but neither was Marino. He's shiftier than Henne. He's got that Big Ben height (actually a little taller). I don't know what to think, exactly, but he COULD BE a steal for us.

My question is, having not watched that much of him, how quick is his release? If blitzed, can he make the defense pay? That's a big intangible that Henne doesn't have.

Mallett doesn't have the leadership intangible, but neither does Henne or Thigpen. Vince Young DID have that in college, but it hasn't done that much for him in the pros. So, not sure.

He's got a strong arm and he takes chances with it. Marino and Elway did the same. It got them in trouble sometimes, but they also made some great plays with it. Both guys matured in the NFL.

I think the Mallett/Marshall combination could be very successful. Marshall doesn't need a perfectly thrown ball or to be completely open to get the completion. Henne was hesitant to throw in to coverage, and when he missed a throw it was WAY off. If Marshall can get in-sync with a young QB, I think he could make up for occasional accuracy issues. If that QB likes to take chances, it would definitely make for a more exciting offense! I wouldn't mind a few more INTs if we also get a ton more TDs.

Elway and Marino were the kings of final drive comebacks....

I know they used to be #1 and #2 when it come to 4th quarter comebacks.

Same here. Of course I see everything through the prism of hating what we have, but of the draft mentions I saw play in the bowl games, Mallett looked the most 'NFL-like' to me. My gut tells me he won't be there @ 15 though.

I don’t see Gabbert or Mallett on the board at 15 either.

I fully expect both of these dudes to LIGHT IT UP at the combine.

The hype will be tremendous and have teams climbing all over each other to get a chance at taking them.

Consequently, they will both go in the top 10. Maybe even the top 5.

Keep in mind kiddies, the NFL keeps becoming more and more of a QB driven league.

And it’s simple; the demand for top tier QB greatly exceeds the supply.

I heard Mallett may be the first QB to ever score lower than a 5 on the Wonderlick test.

Seriously.

Yes, but I don't think they were that in their rookie seasons. Maybe I'm wrong. I remember BOTH players taking chances on throws most QBs wouldn't make. I remember a number of INTs by Marino that were ill-advised throws into double and triple coverage. As these guys gained experience and a rapport with their receivers, their INTs went down.

Marino scored a 15. Brian Griese scored a 39. I don't put much value on that test.

Believe what you want guys, Mallett will be the dumbest player in the NFL.

The guy has a brick between his ears.

Henne is not dumb. He is just simply...a backup QB.

That's not what a lot of people were saying when he came out of Michigan. Word was he was as dumb as a stump.
