Until there is a new CBA, there are no trades allowed that involve any players. Teams can just trade draft picks, no players.

I think the issue is that we are tired of trying to find that diamond in the rough that is "cast offs". People in Miami want us to take the shot in the draft and grab a blue chip college QB in the first round, something Miami hasn't done since Marino. We're long overdue to try this route.

Agreed these first rounders are no guarantee, Newton is more of a project than Jamarcus Russell, Locker had a rough season, Gabbert and mallet will likely be gone, so we can't reach for a project


I would take a Volek or other vet for a few years than grab Devlin, Dalton, Foles, Stanzi or Kaepernick as an apprentice. We still have henne also.

kaepernick could be a Josh Freeman, needs to beef up, but a better passer than Newton with more experience


maybe we can move Thigpen for one of these guys after the draft. I heard there ws interest last year. Not sure Henne would bring us anything, but you neve3r know. maybe harbuagh may feel he can develoop him?

Seems like every year there is a rookie QB entering the draft where the pundits decide that he is "going to need a year or two to develop". It doesn't change the fact that half the time they are wrong and in recent drafts we have seen some pretty good starting QB's.

Sam Bradford, Matt Ryan, Joe Flacco, Colt McCoy, Josh Freeman, Vince Young, Jay Cutler, Phillip Rivers, Ben Roth., etc...

It just seems to me that since around 2004, the QB's have been of higher quality compared to prior years dating back to almost the 84 draft. Sure there were a few exceptions but they were few and far between. We need to evaluate and snag one of 'em.

Surely one of these top 3 or 4 rookie QB's is going to be a stud. I don't know which one yet but...that's what they get paid the big bucks to figure out.

Not one player is going to make as much of an impact for any team than a QB.

RB's are a dime a dozen and WR is very risky when compared to the reward. If you don't have a good QB...neither is going to do much.

It is all a crap shoot. Nobody really know who will the the best QB out of this draft. Volek and orton have at least some proven experience

Then go Dalton or Devlin. Mayock is big on Dalton

We we see what happens at the combine

Volek's numbers when starting were way better than Chad henne. He had back to back 400 yd games onley a few QB's (Marino being one) ever have did this

Man, you can't equate how much a player makes with how good he is. To a certain extent this might be a broad spectrum analysis at best. The only thing a players salary dictates is how much a certain team was willing to pay him at a particular time. Henne's new contract, with whoever, will be much higher than 1 mill a year. Well, higher anyway.
