Stupid move to go after any of these guy's in the mid first. If we traded down, then one was there in the 20's Yes take him, but Id rather beef up our o-line, then do what we do next year, and make a hard push for Luck, trade away the house, and acquire him, because if we finish our O-line, and acquire Jackson. Jesus man we would have the stacked team for 2 years or so.
He wasn't 100% and his Merlin with jersey #10 missed quite a bit of the game. Plus the PK reminded me of someone we know quite well. Don't think we can measure these QB's a la Newton by a analysis on Vick exclusively. Cam is way bigger physically than #7. And if we can fetch a QB like that in the first round. Absolutely.
Problem with NEwton, is guy's his size running, will repeat WILL get knee issues, because all that weight will get hit alot on the run, and the knee's will not hold up to another 250 plus LB taking him down.
After he has surgery at least once, then his running day's are over, and when that happens within the first 4 years of playin, he is screwed.
Sure he will be a average passer, but no to much injury risk with a BIG BIG guy running the ball alot.
I'm good, however good luck to the chump's that pick him up!!
Vick get's hurt alot, and he is what 210? Newton what 260? Lol good luck knee's!!!! GOOD LUCK!
Well again our O-line took a HUGE hit last year. We need a elite O-line.
I don't care what qb might MIGHT fall to us at 15th. I WANT a ELITE 0=LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I WANT AT LEAST 4.4 YARDS PER ATTEMPT, AND VERY LITTLE SACKS!!!
I don't give a ..t about a projected stud QB, I am happy with Thigpen, and I want to protect him, and give him the time needed to do his thing.
I only want a QB when I am guaranteed top 2 of a draft, regardless of trade down, or trade up scenarios. I do not want Newton the next Russell. Or Mallett, the next Lienart, or Gabbert, the next Clausen.
That's how i feel about them regardless if Im in left field or not. You obviously want one bad, but Im good.
I want all the pieces of the puzzle first since we are so close to a complete team, I want the protection first and upmost priority to me.

A&O, Do you think we would trade up to get any of them?
Mark my words Newton will be the biggest bust in the draft if he comes out. Yes you can athletically beat college teams with the spread ala Pat White, but the pros are a whole other ball game. Newton will fail and be out of the league like fat ass Jamarcus Russell just my opinion of course. I have studied Newton, and he reminds me of a much slimmer Jamarcus Russell. Where is Russell now? The Team that takes Newton will regret it for many years to come.
Who says Newton is run first. When I see this guy play he runs the play that is called. When a pass play is called he drops back and executes it. Watch him tonight. The guy can throw most of the passes in the book.
Russel showed no problems in college he just did not put forth the effort in the pros.

The reason Jamarcus Russell, failed was becasue of attitude and a drug problem... It had nothing to do with ability... So saying Newton is gonna fail becasue Jamarcus Russell did is not really a valid argument, unless you say Newton will let the money go to his head and starting sipping Purple syrup, everyday....
Vick made the right call on that last play and the pass was not that bad.He did not have that much room on the outside. A veteran receiver probably would have found the ball and made an adjustment to it and caught it. Cooper is a rookie. I have no problem w/ Vicks performance on yesterday and I am not a Vick fan.

Sure and elite line will make an average QB look good, just like an elite QB will make an average line look good. An elite line will require 3-4 elite players who also function well as a unit. An elite QB requires one elite player who can play QB. Which is more likely to happen in 1 first round pick.
Plus IMO, an OL can be built with free agency MUCH easier than in the draft. Look at what Atlanta has done. This is the path we should have followed instead of the one we've been on for a decade now.

Ahhh...to have a coach that can out-coach the opposition!! Damn I miss that. Except for inception of the Wildcat, I don't really think I've seen a Dolphin coach out coach the other team since Shula.
