Does anyone think that DeAngelo Williams could be our solution at Running Back? With so many Running Backs going into free agency this off-season, I think we are best served to pick up a FA RB and not waste a draft pick on one.

Thoughts?

Rebuild the line, re-sign Ronnie and draft one from the 3rd on down to compete with who we already have, I wouldn't throw a bunch of $$$$$ at a RB at this point.

has anyone noticed that Ronnie Brown is an average to below average NFL running back?

I agree he's not an elite back anymore Berk, but with a revamped O-line and a change of pace speed guy added, he could still be effective for us.

Deangelo will want too much $$$$$$$$......

I think Tim Hightower could be reasonable, though.

If Williams will play for the right price, then get him.

Yea but if we offer him lower than someone else is, then we wont be getting him.

Running backs *HAVE* to get paid *BEFORE* 30, because they dont get paid after that.

He is going to make sure his dollar is maximized.

I'm all set with a big-name signing. You don't need to for the RB position. There is so much talent out there that as long as your line is good, it can make an average RB look great.

The only thing I think we should look for is a guy with a lot of speed.

No free agent without new CBA but assuming they do get one.... I think he is too inconsistent to pay big money to. He had one monster year but it was behind a monster o-line. Prior to that he was being talk about as a first round flop....only starting 2 games in his first two years.

I am ok with Ronnie Brown (resign on the cheap) as Thunder and Sheets as Lightning but only as long as we get our line back in 09 form and the staff is ok with it. They know the health status/mileage better than I. We definitely need more speed back there. We have a lot of holes left to fill and have other needs for the top half of the draft with no FA yet. OG, C, speed TE, QB!

I really wish we would have taken Jimmy Graham (#95) last year. He is a stud. Would have been better than Jerry @ #73 (same goes for Colt McCoy @ #85).

Who are the big time FA RB's that have changed teams recently?"

None, that's whay I dont want to sign a RB to an over-priced contract.
