From the Chicago Tribune:

Bears scouting report of Mia1's future starting QB:

(At 6 feet 1, 224 pounds, Thigpen is known for his athleticism. He can run and is effective in the Wildcat offense. He also has a strong arm, but is not very accurate deep.

The Dolphins are likely to run a lot of bootlegs, play action and screens with him. Thigpen can hurt a defense by dinking and dunking if he plays within the scheme. He sometimes tries to do too much and free-lances, causing negative plays.

The best way to defend him is to keep him in the pocket and make him beat you with his arm)-Chicago Tribune Nov.17th

HMMMMM.....let's see...effective in our ineffective Henning created wildcat offence. Strong but inaccurate passer to go along with freelancing creating many negative plays.

I'd say, with him we'd definitely have the number 1 rated Offence next season.

All I want is to put this Thigpen crap to rest. The Bears scouted him correctly and know like most of us, this is not NFL starting QB material..maybe CFL, but definitely not NFL.

I don't know how Mia1 can be so high on the guy, I'm starting to suspect he IS Thigpen the way he goes on about him...

Thiggy is definitely not the answer to Miami's QB problem even if we are stuck with him over Henne next season.

We need to move up and draft Mallet or Gabbert that's all there is to it!

That's great stuff. Really. Isn't Thigpen a Sagittarius?

Jeez Thunder. Do you have to exagerate so much? From worst to first because of a back-up quarterback that is inaccurate.

Based on what Razor had said, I thought this thread was started by Mia1.

When was this article written? How many games has the man played in the NFL, how many has he started?

That 20 yard pass to Bess for a td WAS a pretty decent throw.

He might not be the most accurate passer, and we all know he need's work in the pocket.

HOWEVER he get's it, and Marshall likes him.

This is going to be what his 4th year in the NFL?

Started 15 games in his career.

Has decent numbers, hell better than Henn's this season.

Not saying he is the next greatest thing, but I have a hunch, that he has enough talent to lead us to the playoffs, and who know's.

Here are there stats:

HENNE: CMP ATT YDS COMP% YPA LNG TD INT SACK RAT

2010 301 490 3301 61.4 6.74 57 15 19 30 75.4
Career 582 953 6246 61.1 6.55 67 27 33 56 75.3

THIGPEN:

2010 33 62 435 53.2 7.02 35 2 2 8 73.0
Career 269 496 3167 54.2 6.39 75 21 17 35 73.7

If we expect to have any success with QB's having statistics like this, then we all must be crazy. Going forward, it's obvious we need a major uprgrade, but still feel Henne's accuracy and arm strength are that much more promising than what Thigpen brings to the table.

Really Henne had twice as much playing time, experiance, on a much better team.

Thigpen also dwarfs Henne's running stats, which I see you failed to post.

Fact that there almost identical, and Thigpen with half the starts should say alot.

Mia1, do you think Tyler is a handsome lad?

Sure I reckon, he isnt the hunchback of Notre Dame, but since the appearance of men, neither excite's me, or turns me on, I couldnt tell you if women, or gay men find him attractive.

With that said, he started 15 game's and put up henne like number's but with alot less INT's, and ALOT MORE RUSHING YARDS, AND RUSHING TD'S!!!

With half the time.

Comparing a physically challenged marsupial to Henne
is no compliment to the pouch. Henne obviously eats
too many balls to be effective.

Is Tyler your man?

I don't know Marsupial's are pretty physically gifted, I mean lets take the Kangaroo for example? Tasmanian devil!!!

Tyler is my currant QB of preferance for our team if that is what you are seeking as a answer from me.

He has started 12 NFL games, and his teams are 1-11 in those games. And he has completed just 54.2% of his passes. That is really the key number here. In today's NFL, with the rules favoring the passing game, and with the abundance of short passing, that completion percentage will not cut it. To put that in perspective, only Jimmy Clausen and Derek Anderson completed passes at a worse rate than that this year. Also, at 6'1, he's not likely to ever be a pocket passer. He's never been one, and at that height, it is difficult to see from an NFL pocket.

Drew Brees is about 5'11'

And Brees is clearly a special case. His height was the main reason that he was a second round pick. NFL people just don't believe in QB's under 6'2, and 6'2 is a bare minimum.

Bree's is 6 foot.

Thigpen played on the Chiefs. Bowe was a developing wr, and he had Gonzalez, but a older one who was tired of playing in KC.

It was what his second year playing? He also had decent rushing yards.

He is now two year's removed and more experianced on a better team.

I'm telling you all give him the offseason to work his thing, and start him.

He will prob do around a 57 58 percent completion, and will be decent.

If he does well then I can expect even better the year after.

Do not forget his leg's he is a decent runner, and accumulates decent yardage.

I think he can be solid.

THANK YOU HE PLAYED BETTER THAN A HENNE THIS YEAR!!! ON A MUCH WORST KC TEAM!!! That is my point. Hell the limited time he played on our team he out played Henne.

1-11.

And that KC team had the 4th best rushing attack in the NFL, averaging 4.8 yards per carry. And Dwayne Bowe had 86 catches for over 1000 yards, so he was more than a developing WR. And Tony Gonzalez had 96 catches for over 1000 yards, with 10 TD, so he wasn't too tired of playing in KC. It was a bad KC team, but that wasn't the fault of a lack of weapons on offense.

Mark is exactly right.

Twiggy sucks and we better hope and pray he isnt our starter going into next season.

I am telling you that Henne is better, Henne has won games.

The facts dont lie. Look at Twiggy's record. The guy is a loser.

The one thing that stands out to me about Thigpen is his inaccuracy. The ball seems to go in all sorts of directions.
