Probably a smarter choice, he wont have to deal with the Jets or Pats twice a year and the SF Niners are in an easier division...easier for him to look better. Plus SF talent is growing. Smart Move for him, plus keeps the family happy.

Yeah its the political right choice, however San-Fran because of a weak division, won't win the SB untill there division stiffen's up and they actualy play sb contender's on a regular basis.

They will be 7-9 8-8.

I'm sure it had nothing to do with the fact that the area is his home with his family, and Miami happens to be on the other side of the country.

Ahhh don't take it so personal, they had the inside track all along.

We were late to the party, and it is much easier for him to remain local.

I actually think SF is poised to make an improvement with good coaching, as they have stocked a lot of talent over recent years, due to being perpetually in the cellar

I was hoping, if nothing else, his judgment of a young QB would help us draft the right one this time. Sparano/David Lee will just corrupt whoever we draft like they did Henne.

Jim Harbaugh agreed to a five-year, $25 million contract to become the San Francisco 49ers' head coach Friday, according to team and league sources.

Wow, only 25 million

There you have it and shows the home field advantage SF had all the while.

Not about the money

So did Harbaugh hate the idea of coaching in Miami, or did Ross offer less than the reported $7 million?
