The real question...

...If Ross decides to give the axe to Sparano isn't who is our new coach going to be it is who is our new gm going to be?who is our new defensive coordinator going to be? and who is our new vp/scout going to be? Right now we have a staff that likes each other and is all on the same page something that Miami could never find the last couple of years. So will we be trasitioning back to a patchwork staff with a Gm like Peterson, trying to work with a random coach and an owner constantly interjecting who lacks good football sense? Haven't we been down that road already? or do we bring in a guy like Cowher and let him have complete control over everything;something he has never done; and another road we have already pursued.

I think Ross recognizes that and is seeking to get a quality coach to come in and to retain both Ireland and Nolan (and perhaps defensive team coaches as well).

I think if carl Peterson has a role it will be more in the advisor replacement role currently filled by Bill parcells, but not functoning like one.

Get cowher in here ASAP and let him run the show. You know he is gonna make all the right moves and make everybody look good.

Ross is trying to add icing to his cake. Bringing Cowher in is the equivalent of baking a new cake. You'd be waiting about 2 years before Miami started to show the real benefits of having Cowher as a coach. I think Ross understands this and doesn't want to blow up the organization yet.

Seriously though, can somebody (in a simple way) translate what the OP was saying/asking?

It is obvious that the players are playing uptight. If you watch Sparano in press conf, he is always throwing out numbers and stats. Well, Jerry Jones said it best in the 60 minutes interview, numbers don't mean crap. Points on the board and wins do. I worked for a guy that reminds me alot of sparano, loves the power, tries to come up with quarky/fun ideas to motivate, brushes with a fine comb. Needless to say, he was a pain in the ass to work for. I led the company in sales up to him taking over, then i was so disgusted to see him take credit for "motivating me", that I slowed down. Needless to say, he didn't stay around long.

Phins have the talent, and these guys don't need alot of motivation. They know if they play well, they are going to get paid.

Translation:

Isn't very cryptic, he is saying that change at HC brings the risk of losing some cohesion with the existing staff.

As noted, I don't think Ross's vision is something that necessitates losing that cohesion, but it is a risk if you can't land a quality coach and keep the good you have

- Basicaly reshuffles the deck.
- Cowher may demand that

I personnaly think that Ross is trying to get one of the big name guys Gruden, Cowher, harbough etc, and ask them to retain the Ireland, and Nolan. It is an ideal scenario, yet perhaps not doable.

Thus if not sleekdog's point is reality, that change means potentially a lot of shake up.

However - Failure to change is reaching a point where we may not have that cohesion anyway, if the team respect for the current regime is waning.

If Ross decides to change coaches,a repurcussion of this move may be the regime falling apart because new coaches will be inserted which many times leads to conflicting views causing problems. I then stated we have already tried piecing together staffs before in the past and it didn't work and another option we tried was letting a coach do everything and that did not work well either.

He is not going to change coach's. He can't afford it.

Hell Harbaugh alone want's 7 mill. Plus he live's in Cal, so I suspect the Raiders, or San Fran to pick him up.

Coher doesnt want to have the choice to not keep a decent Gm, and a solid DC, so whatever. Gruden want's to much money.

This means we will be keeping Sparano, and Ross is just going through the reads, to make it appear that he tried his best.

He would have to finish paying off Sparano, not to mention at least 7 mill for another coach of the one's mentioned so around 10 mill next year for a coach, not going to happen.

Was exciting thinking we might get Cowher lol oh well.

Yup exactly. It's too expensive for Ross to do this. We will enjoy 1 more dull uneventful year with this regime, then look for an overhaul next season.

One brightnote if that does happen and no one pays the gruden price this year ... he will be much more reasonable next year without the $5 mil coming from tampa.

Honestly I would not want Gruden.
