You know, I'm all for everyone in life that's deserving getting opportunity. It's the American way. I just never understood the Rooney rule. Situations like this are a prime example that it's simply not a viable solution.
Minorities jesus its bs rules like that which promote racism.
Stupid rule needs to go.
If a owner want's a certain man to coach his team, it desnt matter his race, not like there is only one Black HC, what about Latino coach's, Chinese coachs? What about Middle Eastern coachs? What about European coachs lol.

Thats why they cant fire Sparano, the Italian coaches will be pissed
I'm not like, infuriated about it, like Mia1. I just never really understood why people that decried racism in opportunity, try to use social design rules to fix the problem, when it's been shown time and time again to be ineffective in solving the core problem.
Lets be honest here, i dont know the race of anyone on this board here, but quite honestly today the absolute worst minority to be is a white male, there are no laws dictating the number of white males you must have at least interviewed for a job, it is all bs, but its true. It sucks to be a white male in todays society.
"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry
I watched on the NFL network Sunday around 12:45 Rich Eisen say that Dallas named Garrett Head Coach before the game . He also said that Dallas fulfilled the Rooney rule . I can't remember how but the segment went on and his cohosts agreed with it . Marshal Falke questioned weather he deserved it because "the offence did not score well while Garrett was OC. Michael Irvin was all for Garrett.

No not a white male, but a poor white male, rich white males, and well off white males got it made, its us poor white males which realy sucks.
Just go apply for foodstamps, or any gov help you will understand.
Seems to me that this rule was made on purpose to create problems of prejudice and discrimination within all groups, regardless skin color situations. Besides, guess who came up with this stupid rule. The organization with the most sick and criminal fanatics in all of sports. Fortunately can't wait for the Patriots to completely humiliate and destroy them. That is if they get that far.
