Cowher to Miami?

If Cowher's wish list was true, then it is down to one team. Miami. Kubiak will stay with the Texans and Coughlin remains the Giants leader. Bring him on!

But why we are on his wish list, I have no idea.

With the right coaching staff we have a lot of potential. We have:

1. The best LT in the league
2. A top-5 WR
3. One of the best (if not the best) slot WRs in the league
4. One of the top defenses in the league.
5. One of the best OLBs (Wake) in the league
6. The best pair of young CBs in the league (Vontae/Smith)

What we need:

1. A legit QB
2. A pass-catching TE
3. A solid Center or OG (depending where Incognito plays)
4. A decent RB

What we have outweighs what we need, and with the draft and free agency, the NEED list can be filled on one season. With the right coach we can attract some good FAs!

We need a franchise QB more than anything.

Cowher, Sparano, or whoever is coaching needs to make QB and a new offensive coordinator their #1 priorities.

Sure, but what/who do we trade? There are a few guys I'd consider untouchable:

Long
Wake

and guys I'd HATE to see traded:

Vontae
Smith
Marshall

Of the rest, who do we have?

So what's up with the phone call that Tuna made to Ross to save Tony's job? Isn't it a done deal that Sparano is staying because of that? Why is there continued speculation and hopes for a new HC?

Because as fans we feel we know better. In this case, I think the fans are right!

You know more often than not, I think the fans are right. It is kind of like polling the audience on "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?".

I think everybody on offense is tradeable and nobody on defense is tradable.

I would trade Long for a franchise QB.....in a heart beat.

Only if it's a sure thing, meaning, only if it's a current young NFL QB...NOT a draft pick!

Should have drafted Matt Ryan to begin with. Epic fail by this organization.

Great climate. Young team with some talent. Good ownership that wants to spend money to win (e.g. not stingy like the Bills/Bengals/Panthers).

But mostly money and the fact that Florida has no state income tax on top of that.

You guy's are thinking about it all wrong. Thigpen is good enough.

Why in the hell would we waist our only pick on a freaken QB that isnt any better than Thigpen?

Then what watch the Pats take all the talent in the first 4 rounds while we twiddle our thumbs and take a third round Guard, and 4th round tackle.

STOP with the WE ONLY NEED A FRANCHISE QB.

Last time I checked no matter who the hell was in at QB he was being harrassed hard, because our O-line can't block to save a life.

Wise thinking guys.

So what if Thigpen falls flat on his face? go back to Henne? sign Ramsey again?

I'd rather try and find a franchise QB than go through all kinds of band-aid QB's.

He won't fall flat on his face.
He has gotten better since KC. He wasnt that bad in KC either, sure wasnt setting it on fire, but NO qb would on that team.

Give the man a chance.

Jesus draft a mid round QB if you want to take a stab at polishing a gem.

Let the man continue to put up better numbers than HENNE.

Serious you use the bears game? A short week to prepare, with ZERO health at the O-line, and Marshall throwing footballs at people, then hurting himself, as Thigpen's audition?

You mean the 6 sack night, that Thigpen all he did was run for his life, because our o-line was non exsistant?

Get real man lol.... I said draft a mid round QB, Thigpen won't fail man, you know what Marshall seemed to like him too.

Marshall's opinion about a qb I will take any day over your's or anyone else's on here any day of the week.

Good Qb's would of made SOMETHING happen in the Bears game, but no need to rehash that, we did have lots of injuries for that one so I'll let it slide and chalk it up as a bad game.

Well hell if Brandon Marshall likes him I guess he has to be good! Christ some guys liked Ryan Leaf too so what does this even mean?

And how many QB's not drafted in the 1st round have worked out for Miami since Marino retired?
Hell the last time we drafted a QB in the 1st round WAS Marino! I think it's time to quit piddling around and just bite the bullet and draft a QB in the 1st round.

Right on razorghost. In Miami's history they have only drafted 2 QB's in the first round. Bob Griese (1967) and Dan Marino (1983). Guess what, both are in the NFL Hall of Fame, and both have been to Superbowls. Many have said that taking a QB in the first round is a crap shoot, but we are 2 for 2, 100%. This 2011 draft will be Miami's 45th draft. Maybe it's time to take another 1st round QB, IF one worth the pick falls to us. If not, trade down and take best available QB, unless an awesome RB is there when we pick. QB and RB are the most important needs, in that order. We have a few good OL that will be coming back from IR. Plus our defense will be getting a boost when our 2010 1st and 4th round picks (Jared Odrick/A.J. Edds) get off IR. We already have good receivers, which will be even better when we find someone that can consistantly get the ball to them. The OL should be ok with IR players returning, a free agent pickup or two, and maybe a late draft pick, plus a healthier Jake Long. OL is not as big a need as many believe. Injuries and constant lineup changes were the biggest problems for the OL.

I agree with what DolphanManiac is saying about IR players coming back. We SHOULD have a solid D with the players we lost and the O line can be fixed with getting players back and free agency/late round picks. The QB situation lies either with Thigpen or a draft.

I hate stats so don't tell me about his win loss record and I really don't see us having a good spot in the draft for a QB in place by the time it gets to us to pick. I hope we have something to go after, but we don't need to give the house away for one player. Thigpen can get it done, but he will need a lot of help from a new line and a good running back. I don't feel he could carry us, but he reminds me of Steve Young.

Mia1, you need to stop with the Twiggy love and just admit that *ALL* of our QB's suck.

They are journeyman who will never lead a franchise. The same love you are spewing over Twiggy is the same love you spewed over Pat White. JUST STOP IT!

The guy is a bum, Henne is a bum....it is just the reality of our situation.

We need a franchise QB, and we need to ensure we get one on the draft, even moving up if we have to.

We need to draft a qb in the first round period.

"I would trade Long for a franchise QB.....in a heart beat.
- Aqua&Orange"

No offense O&A but I find this logic difficult to follow.

1. Long is about the only thing I can think of that os going right with the offense, and it will never work as an eith e QB or LT ... you MUST have them both, yes and sprinkle in some other OL too.

2. My thoughts on our offense? Look what happend to our pathec defense when we added a little talent and a decent DC

- Get a decent OC, I'm not sure we don't need to replace Sarano too, but at minumum defiantely need an OC,and some offensive coaches that know how to teach up players

- Look what we have on defense now in just one year with Mike Nolan. People have to worry about what he is thinking ... not so with our offense.

3. Offensive needs: Cower? or just an decent OC?

- QB, TE, maybe another OL and some coaching

- I put Sparano at fault here too, and think that he either gets a talented OC and let's the guy coach and call plays or replace Sparano too.

- Miami is BORING and lacks game breaker talent and scheme

Phinjim,

If we would have had Anthony Munoz, would you have traded him for Dan Marino?
