Bring back "Jimmy Johnson"

Jimmy Johnson aka (JJ) was a great talent evaluator. He knows how to pick a football player. The Dolphins need to do a much better job picking talent and keeping it ! You should never let your good players go or trade them to your division rivals ...... never ! I hate New England but I am envious of how they can formulate a dominate team year after year ! I would never want JJ as our coach again but would love to have his service as a draft scout for us. We need some "big time ballers" on this team from the upcoming draft ! This team needs a change starting from the top down !!!!!!!!! "enough said"

Do we need to run down the whole list of JJs many, many draft misses? Especially on offense? JJ as a great talent evaluator is a myth. He hit on a handful of very good defensive players while he was here. But he missed on many, many more. He is the guy who started us on the downward spiral with regard to talent. Go back and look at how many times he traded down, only to have both picks that he traded down for not even make the team.

You can dwell on the negatives while I will dwell on the positives ! JJ has picked some great players. Do you really think that every JJ pick in the draft is going to be a hit ???? I would rather have JJ making the picks than the clowns in Miami !!! What Pro Bowl stars have the dolphins picked in the last few years ??????? Cameron Wake and Jake Long ? ..... we had to take Jake long because no one else wanted that pick ! Wake wasn't even drafted ...... I will take JJ's picks any day over today's Front Office picks ! Lets see here ... Leon Lett, Troy Aikman, Herschel Walker, Emmit Smith, Russell Maryland, the list goes on... JJ picked a few great players in Miami if you remember ? Remember Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Sam Madison, and Patrick Surtain ? Cecil Collins, John Avery and Yatil Green were big busts under JJ but I will much prefer JJ making the picks.

I don't think Jimmy is looking to get back in the game.

JJ has 3 things going for him when he drafted for Dallas:

1. High draft picks because of the terrible record the team had the previous year.
2. A TON of draft picks because of the Hershell Walker trade
3. "Inside" info because he came from college. For example, he KNEW Emmitt Smith was going to be great because his team played against him and he played in the same state. Most scouts in the NFL didn't have the same opinion.

If you want to evaluate JJ's picks, look at what he did for Miami. He didn't have a SINGLE pick on offense that was worth anything for us. Not ONE!!! Our defense is pretty solid now. If we were to take someone to help us draft, it would NOT be JJ.

I was going to say the exact same things until I read this.

"Herschel Walker"

JJ traded Herschel, not drafted him.

The draft is a hit and miss game and JJ was no different. If you want to concentrate on the positives start with Ireland and Sporano.

Wake
Long
Davis
Smith ( The guy is not that bad )
Carol
Misi ( Middle of the rd but it is to be expected out of a first year player )
Bess

if you want to talk trade

Marshall
Dansby

Point is the list of bad is as long as the list of goods. This is the case with every regime.
