This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
The Pats parts are all interchangeable, they pick up a dead RB and he does the job, they patch together the DB's and it does the Job, they trade awat WR's D line and all other pats the one constant is QB and HC and every year even the years they seem to have holes they win.... Give me a Good QB and Great Coach and I will live with the rest needing to be rebuilt...
The teams that fire coaches are always the bad teams?
You're implying that firing coaches causes a team to be bad. Maybe those teams are bad because of poor personnel decisions, and because they hire bad coaches in the first place?
To assert that the Dolphins are bad because they fired Cam Cameron (as opposed to being bad because THEY HIRED HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE) is just asinine.
I got an idea Ken. Lets just keep running this piece of crap item into the ground and get loosing season after season and that way you can be happy that we stuck it out.
No, psalm. Clearly we should let Sparano have a lame duck year to finish out his contract, because that would be preferable to firing him now while a proven Super Bowl winning coach like Bill Cowher is available.
There are no guarantees, but when you have the chance to upgrade to someone who has demonstrated he is a better coach than the guy you have now, it is stupid not to upgrade.
I am very down on Henne and I'll be glad to see this team replace him with someone better, but he's still better than Mark Sanchez and THE JETS ARE IN THE PLAYOFFS.
I’m posting this here because I’m disgusted with this entire charade. Forgive my intrusion. However, if you agree with what fallows – send a note to Dolphin headquarters, Attention Steven Ross – Owner.
Project BIG is hereby a certified FAILURE!
Parcells + Ireland + Sparano = 1 lucky season with Chad P falling into their lap – culminating with an absolute disgraceful abomination in Patsies land.
Yo Bill, you didn’t do CRAP for this franchise. Nothing special at ALL…
You leave us with pure GARBAGE at the QB position and a bunch of BIG sow dudes with a history of MAJOR SURGERY in college. Thanks for fixing our injury problem – you fat ass fraud Tuna…
And Sparano, take your ”OK’s” and stupid play count stats back to division 2 where you belong. For Jeffy “your momma was a ho” Ireland, you suck no worse than the rest of the crap “culture” you installed.
Bye bye you POS. Don’t the door hit you in the ass…

What no hate mail on Thigpen keeping the drive alive? No Thigpen sucks, was luck?
No love on Thigpen's go and get it drive to win, and actualy producing result's, and UTILIZING MARSHALL, which Henne is too scared to throw it too him.

RE: The reasons why are many, and varied, but the teams that have revolving doors at the coaching positions are always bad teams...I chalk it up to not having any continuity, a culured and shared philosophy, a lack of a sound destination and a clear vision.

RE: No, he was an example nothing more...His vision for the team revolved around superior speed, superior athletic ability and creating favorable matchups for our players based upon those things. Speed along with athlietism kills, and if you have enough of those things you cannot be stopped as an offense, kind of like the Rams when they were the greatest show on turf. He also was an example of throwing away a staff with a completely different vision than their predecessors. And this was done based upon a single failed season which is long before they had a chance to fully implement the system.
Parcells and Sparano share a vision whereby large powerful, tough and intimidating players simply overpower their opponents and beat them into submission in the fourth quarter. This vision works as well, but as we have all seen, not nearly as well because it's too conservative and does not possess quick strike, big play, abliity.
We need to be somewhare in the middle...JMO.
The Pats winn a lot of games simply because of superior coaching, a scheme that is friendly to quarterbacks and puts players in positions to excel. Thats why they are so good at being great with what they have even when what they have isn't as good as other teams on paper...then you add Brady to the mix and it's a recipe for unbridled success. And as we have all seen, many times now...even when Brady isn't playing the team rarely misses a beat. It's all the coaching and more importantly the syatem that makes them so effective.

RE: I never said that we shouldn't make changes...some of you guys forget that.
I have said numerous times that we need to replace Henning and bring in an offensive coordinator that is agressive, inventive, creative and that will attck defenses and not simply take what they are giving.
But "IF" Tony Sparano is retained he MUST bring in that kind of OC...our current conservative approach needs to be out the window.
If he isn't willing to do that then he must be replaced...period.
The problem with replacing a head coach is that all of the time we've spent revamping the teams roster to fit the scheme is wasted effort. Because a new coach and the resulting new front office will have a different thought process as to what works and what they need. A team must have, to a man, a common goal in mind and a common strategy for achieving that goal.
That kind of roster turnover and shift in thinking takes time and we are right back to square one again....for what the fifth time in ten years?
