overrated. won with someone else's team. then ran that team into the ground. to me this would be a "j-lo" hire, all name, no substance, not worth a damn.
I think the question to put to people at that point(since it would mean we whiffed on Cowher) is would you rather have Chucky, or take Sparano back for another year?
Not that I'm aware of. I did watch the post game on CBS today, the one with Marino, Cowher, JB and Sharpe. JB asked the question "What do you do now with this loss if you are owner Stephen Ross". The camera panned over to Sharpe sitting next to Cowher and Sharpe made a phone to the ear gesture and pointed under his arm to Cowher. Cowher just smiled with his massive chin.
It excited me as well. I'm willing to bet something is already being discussed in a non-official capacity between our celebrity teabagging owner and Cowher's agents.
I hope Cowher comes and completely remodels this team and image and somehow gets rid of the b-list celebrity clowns and all that corny music as well. Lets get back to 70's Shula/Dolphins REAL football. I dont care if Nolan gets discarded along the way, Cowher knows some things about D too...
Some of you may not want Gruden or think he's overrated but when he coached I don't remember him being known for wasting timeouts, poor game management and being ultra conservative.
I don't know if Gruden's the answer but I'd take him over Tony right now.
Gruden has always had a 4-3 defense. Not sure he'd like our defensive philosophy. He likes the Tampa 2, which values speed over size, pretty much exactly the opposite of Parcells' philosophy.
That is what I have being trying to say for a while now.
If we signed Gruden, we will need a complete overhaul on defense. Right now, our defense is getting better, 1 or 2 really good pieces away from being great.
Signing Gruden wold dismantle that, and show Nolan the door.
