If we could get him for nothing i'd check him out, he hasn't proven anything to warrant giving up a draft pick for him though. And for the record I despise ND.

Jim Harbaugh, bring in Quinn, keep Henne, and the Thig Man?

I don't remember but there was a bunch of people pulling for him. Just wondering why they all crawled under a rock.

I was a Quinn lover, and highly pissed when we didn't draft him. Lets face it, the man is handsome, and if you are going to lose, might as well look good while doing it. Think he would fit in South Florida rather well. I still think he could be good, was solid in college.
I think Brady Quinn is far superior than that overrated Clausen playing for NC. Never cared for his skills or style at ND. Quinn should be acquired to compete with Henne or whomever the Dolphins wind up with post season. Quinn may be much better than his time with the Browns indicates. The Broncos, under their new management could trade him. What about an even trade, Henne for Quinn?
Quinn has started 12 times in the NFL for an inept team worse than the Dolphins. He has thrown for 1902 yds completing only 52% of his passes (184/353). He has completed passes resulting in 10 TDs. His porous O-line helped him get sacked 19 times with the Browns in 2009. He was sacked only once the year before starting 3 games. His longest completion was 59 yds. He has also scampered for 119 yds on 25 attempts.
The number of game starts is pretty low, playing for the lowly Browns who have a losing record 8 of 10 years this decade. During Quinn's tenure with the Browns (2007, 2008, 2009) the team won a cumulative 19 games. Ten (10) won in 2007 the Brown's best season this decade. They managed 4 wins in 2008 and bumped that to 5 wins in 2009.
It's probable that the team's losing was not because of Quinn so much as the overall weakness of the team as a whole.
As far as I can tell he has not started or filled in at QB with the Broncos. Again, not necessarily an indicator that he can't play and succeed with the Broncos, but he has moved to a team that has similar weaknesses on offense and defense as the Browns. They are streaking along winning 3 games out of 14 so far.
Who knows with the Broncos whether Kyle Orton, Tebow or Quinn will ever succeed at QB with the current holes on offense and defense. Also, the Broncos coach was fired. This is another indication that shows a big problem with that team.
I'd give Quinn a chance to succeed with a team that has a good defense, filling offensive weaknesses with proven guards and tackles, and upgrading the WR corps with one additional seasoned receiver.
It's not that I think Quinn is the answer, but we should be able to get him cheap. Who knows what he will do. Let him compete and see what happens. What do we have to lose?
I would not be mad if this happens, but I still think Orton would be better. Problem is, I don't see the Broncos letting Orton go. That makes Quinn the most likely prospect from that team.
I'm not against bringing in Quinn on the cheap. The guy's got qualities that make you think he can be a good NFL QB.
I did watch a little of him in Cleveland and it was pretty awful all around. He had no help from the skill positions (Cribbs is like a poor man's Devin Hester) and the rest of the team was lousy, too.
That said, he quickly turned into Charlie Checkdown. The situation was somewhat similar to what Henne has here in Miami, except he really didn't have a Bess or Marshall to make a play for him now and then, so the bulk of his completions were underneath stuff to a bunch of second rate scrubs.
He's inaccurate, has trouble with the speed of the game at this level(checks down more than Henne or Sanchez), and has a medium strengthed arm. He's a backup at best, not worth anything more than a 7th. If he's on the market, pick up a flyer on the dude and let him come to camp, but only as fodder.
Listen guys, I'm tired of pussy footing around with the QB1 position. Bring in the polished product. Use a 1st round pick AND go out and sign the best vet on the market. Let's stop putting lipstick on the pig! FIX THE PROBLEM. QUINN does not = FIXED QB POSITION.
