What about McNabb?

If bring McNabb in as a backup and pay him that way, then I could see it working. Otherwise, we're not built to go after a championship next year...so a 1-year band aid wouldn't be a good idea.

I beg to differ... anyone with a top ranked defense is very much in contention for a superbowl. If we can sure up the O line and get a good running game going... we would be one QB away from being a top 5 team.

I don't know....the last time we brought in a veteran QB after our disastrous 1-15 season we went 11-5 took the division and hosted a playoff game.
Not saying McNabb is going to replicate that but my curiosity has me wondering how competitive this team could be with a guy like that.
Just a 1 year deal to see where he's at, it's a low risk move and we still have Henne and draft picks if it doesn't work, so why not?
We need to draft a player preferably in the third or fourth rounds to compete with Henne and Thigpen on a level playing field...best player in camp and pre season wins the starting job.
And more importantly a fresh minded, creative and agressive offensice coordinator.
Then draft a big, speedy WR and the same at TE.
Sign free agent O-Line players at center and OG.
Get Carey playing better or pick up someone to push and/or replace him.
How about Pat White? He's playing for the Royals so maybe he can do what BO did, I'm sure he's over the hit from the Pitt game. He'll do great for us, I feel it
Damn RJay, you really don't like Mcnabb ha? Wow, I'm not saying he's still that good but I didn't think he was that bad considering Washington is a bigger disaster than us right now. But I do have to agree, I'm not crazy about the idea either.
I have nothing against McNabb personally. He was a big part of the Eagles' success early in his career. However, he is not the player he used to be, nor would he be playing in Andy Reid's "Make anyone look like a good QB" system.
I have watched six or seven Skins games this year and actually agreed with Shanahan's decision to bench him. McNabb was not an upgrade over Jason Campbell, and Jason Campbell can't even secure the starting job in Oakland.

RESPONSE: And in the ultimate irony, after our many battles over Henne, I actually DISAGREE that Henne is a better quarterback NOW than McNabb. He may be better in the future though that may be doubtful if you consider McNabb at his peak.
Again, I, a Purdue guy who rooted for us to draft Orton at the time, am not sure that Orton would end up being better but I certainly would not mind bringing him in to replace Pennington.
Mcnabb is old and no good end of story i agree with RJay that Henne is better than Mcnabb right now, he was out played by rex "My BAC is higher than his QB rating" grossman.
If Henne ends up not working out for us, which he may never end up doing, i want us to draft someone.
What i would love to see is for us to draft a high caliber Qb and a 2-3 round reciever in the same draft, for them to develop career chemistry with.
"It's been fun to get the reaction of visiting coaches to the color of their locker room. Most don't notice it, but those that do are in trouble. . . . When I talk to an opposing coach before a game and he mentions the pink walls, I know I've got him. I can't recall a coach who has stirred up a fuss about the color and then beat us.” Hayden Fry

I am on the McNabb Bandwagon. Sorry guys. He just had his worst NFL season since his 2nd year in the league. And it wasn't all his fault. I think McNabb can be extremely valuable to us next year.
