I like listening to Gruden when he's in the booth. He understands the modern football game and has spot on evaluations of players. He would definitely be an asset to this team if he were HC.
Cowher scares me a bit...Like how he stubbornly stuck with QB Cordell Stewart when the whole world knew Stewart sucked.
Cowher built that Pitt team and took them to 2 Superbowls. Gruden came into a team that was built by Tony Dungy, took it to 1 Superbowl, then stayed on as they had losing seasons and he was eventually fired. It's Cowher for me.
Until Cowher got Rapelisberger he was a 3 yards a cloud of dust, win it with strong D type of coach (I'll agree he did it very well) I've seen enough of this in the last 10 years, I want an innovative offensive minded coach. Chuckie
I voted Cowher but, either one will do. Sparano is in waaay over his head. From Offensive line coach to head HC, that's quite a leap. What was Parcell thinking?

You are dead on there! I really like Sparano and have supported him up till now and I would honestly feel for him when he does get fired but the game management, timeouts and etc.... it`s too much!
It`s time for a new direction.
Cowher or Gruden is fine with me but my gut instinct says the Dolphins should hire Chucky.
I’m not so sure this is an auto slam dunk for Cowher, though of course he would be a welcome sight at Dolphin camp. I actually think Gruden is the smarter of the two, and he’s a pretty hot motivator in his own right. I also think Gruden may be hungrier at this point in his career, and would work just as hard as Cowher, and maybe ever harder.
Based on the composition of our roster I believe they are both good fits, though I believe Chuckie is the superior coach dealing with QB’s. Plus, Gruden seems a bit more creative and adaptable than Cowher. They would both produce a tough football team, though the absolute toughness curve tends to go in Cowher’s direction.
Personally, I think they are both great prospects for us. That’s a really hard choice IMO. I guess it might come down to peripheral connections. For example, if we can keep Nolan I’d tend to go with Gruden – because he’s more of an offensive minded HC than Cowher.
Last, and this is a big point, Cowher had an amazing staff in Pitts and was surrounded with great personal and an top notch front office. Couple that with the fact he didn’t win it all until he got big Ben.

So did Shula's. Worse...then Better. Nowadays it's rare that a coach stays on long enough to have their team get better, though.
