I like listening to Gruden when he's in the booth. He understands the modern football game and has spot on evaluations of players. He would definitely be an asset to this team if he were HC.

Cowher scares me a bit...Like how he stubbornly stuck with QB Cordell Stewart when the whole world knew Stewart sucked.

Cowher built that Pitt team and took them to 2 Superbowls. Gruden came into a team that was built by Tony Dungy, took it to 1 Superbowl, then stayed on as they had losing seasons and he was eventually fired. It's Cowher for me.

We are getting cowher. I'd prefer chuckie, but let's just win.

Until Cowher got Rapelisberger he was a 3 yards a cloud of dust, win it with strong D type of coach (I'll agree he did it very well) I've seen enough of this in the last 10 years, I want an innovative offensive minded coach. Chuckie

Wouldn't be too upset if it was Cowher though.

I voted Cowher but, either one will do. Sparano is in waaay over his head. From Offensive line coach to head HC, that's quite a leap. What was Parcell thinking?

You are dead on there! I really like Sparano and have supported him up till now and I would honestly feel for him when he does get fired but the game management, timeouts and etc.... it`s too much!
It`s time for a new direction.

Cowher or Gruden is fine with me but my gut instinct says the Dolphins should hire Chucky.

Gruden...ummmmm, no. I never liked him as a coach.

Cowher..I like his disciplined approach but thought for the most part he was an average coach during his time in Pitt.

Give me an agressive offensive minded guy and then give him the time to implement that strategy...unlike what happened to Cam Cameron.

Either way Mike Nolan has to be retained.

Gruden simply because I don't want another coach with a mustache. Enough of this Wannyball nonsense.

Cowher is not Wanny. It's a shame to put them in the same sentence.

This is too easy of a question, Cowher hands down.

Didn't Cowher take his team to the AFC Championship game 6 out of the 12 years he was HC? Wouldn't call that average

Exactly. Cowher is a much better HC than Chuckie.

I’m not so sure this is an auto slam dunk for Cowher, though of course he would be a welcome sight at Dolphin camp. I actually think Gruden is the smarter of the two, and he’s a pretty hot motivator in his own right. I also think Gruden may be hungrier at this point in his career, and would work just as hard as Cowher, and maybe ever harder.

Based on the composition of our roster I believe they are both good fits, though I believe Chuckie is the superior coach dealing with QB’s. Plus, Gruden seems a bit more creative and adaptable than Cowher. They would both produce a tough football team, though the absolute toughness curve tends to go in Cowher’s direction.

Personally, I think they are both great prospects for us. That’s a really hard choice IMO. I guess it might come down to peripheral connections. For example, if we can keep Nolan I’d tend to go with Gruden – because he’s more of an offensive minded HC than Cowher.

Last, and this is a big point, Cowher had an amazing staff in Pitts and was surrounded with great personal and an top notch front office. Couple that with the fact he didn’t win it all until he got big Ben.

Take Chuckie and let’s roll!

Or get Cowher and let’s party!

Whatever. Just do something exciting. Do it now!

Chuckie's teams always regressed.

Cowher left as a superbowel winner.

Not even close to a debate. Cowher is better....by far.

That is the worst argument I have ever seen on this board.

You do realize the same thing happened with Barry Switzer in Dallas, right!?

But everybody realized that was Jimmy Johnson's team.

Same thing in Pittsburgh, that was Cowher's team. He built it.

I think Gruden is a really good coach.

I just think Cowher is a *GREAT* coach.

No matter what the circumstances put before Cowher, I can never imagine a team coached by him getting worse.

End the end, you might be right, but, I just think Cowher is better.

I do know this, Tampa Bay players gave up on Gruden. He lost the team.

I can never see Cowher losing control of his team.

So did Shula's. Worse...then Better. Nowadays it's rare that a coach stays on long enough to have their team get better, though.
