Well you can add his name to available QBs this off-season, made him 3rd string behind Grossman and John Beck of all people.....OUCH! If they cut him I would give it a try, but no way i'm giving up alot to get him.

If that's true, then Henne should be enough to win a championship. If Grossman made it to the Superbowl, then there's no reason who Henne couldn't win it.

Devin Hester and their Def won them about 4 or 5 games that year. Dont get me wrong, I would kick the tires on Grossman but I personally dont think he's the answer.

I don't feel the answer is a HoF-caliber QB. Those are few and far between, and there's no guarantee we'll find one anytime soon (or ever). If we keep hanging our hats on finding a QB we'll turn into the Detroit Lions. On the other hand, if we change the OC and build around Henne by strengthening the O-Line, improving the running game, adding a pass-catching TE and a speedy WR, then I don't see why we couldn't go all the way WITH Henne. As long as we keep Mike Nolan, there's no reason why it can't happen.

??Detroit Lions?? Had they found a QB to go with Barry Sanders and Herman Moore they would have been contenders for a decade.

The formula your talking about results in Johnson's Bucs or Dilfer's Ravens. A couple good years and then done. It's to hard to hold all the pieces together.

A good/great QB can cover a lot of shortcomings on offense. Think of the teams that have been to consecutive or multiple super bowls over the course of a decade. I'm sorry, there is just no long term success without a good QB.

Wait. Peyton Manning is a future HoFer. He's won 1 Superbowl. Drew Brees..1 Superbowl. Rivers...0. In fact, there are only 2 QBs playing in the league right now that have won more than 1....Big Ben and Brady. That's it!!! Gambling everything on ONE player tends to lead to failure...hence, Detroit.

Thank you for proving my point. The guys you mentioned have been to 8
and won 7 of the last 10 super bowls.

And thank God Eli Manning was in another. While he's overrated, he'll still likely end up in the HOF. So thats 8 of the last 10 superbowls won by a likely HOFer.

Go back another decade and it's about the same. Elway 2, Warner 1, Aikman 3, Farve 1, Young 1. Which one of those won't be in the HOF?

The only way Eli ends up in the HOF is if he's there visiting his brothers bust.

Actually I think it proved his point. And that is it takes a Team to win a SB. So how can you use this as an example? Show me the TEAMS that have been long time contenders over the last 10 years. I believe there is ONE and that is NE. The rest are in and then out for several years.
NE, as much as I can't stand them, always have a great team.

Who is returning this year. Maybe, and that is a big maybe, the Saints. Then they won't contend for several years either. That's just the way the NFL is.

I dont think anyone's advocating trying to do it without a great QB, we're just not really in a position to get one right now, maybe Henne blossoms in year 3 with a better O around him and a different OC...maybe he doesn't, but without trading away your whole draft at a 50/50 chance of getting one, we dont have many other options.

Pittsburgh has been there many years as well.

But, lets not forget just how great those organizations are from top to bottom. It takes more than just a great QB to be a perennial contender year in and year out.

If we trade for or sign McNabb, I'll boycott next season. Not because McNabb is a bad person or anything, but because I don't think I could take watching us self destruct under the leadership of a has been washed up QB with limited mobility and the accuracy of a High School QB. Seriously guys, he's done.

For the record, I didn't start this post with the intention for us to go get this guy, I was more amazed he's 3rd string behind Beck. Having said that, if he was cut, i'd kick the tires and see what he has left.

Followed McNabb since his Syracuse days. You have to ben an IDIOT to call him a duummy. Every thing has failed in MIA since Bob Griese retired. To put him behind Grossman and Beck is just more lunacy coming from the Redskins.

I think Eli Manning will probably go into the HoF if he stays healthy. He's pretty good, but what gets him in is that he plays in New York City and beat the 18-0 Patriots in an incredible 4th quarter Super Bowl victory.

Eli wins another SB and plays another 5/6 years he is HoF. Just by playing in NY

I think Henne, Thiggy, and McNabb would give us security at QB for at least next year. (Basically its the same thing as Henne, Thiggy, and Pennington with an upgrade from Pennington.)
