Well, obviously. I assume that we all realize this most salient of points. For, as much as we like to dream the dream, the Dolphins are not out of it at all, and may yet, dare I say it, go on to win the SB, with Chad Henne, who knows, overcoming incredible odds.

Yes, we’re just speculating, and arguing too, shootin da sheet, as it were.

Anyway, Carson being a viable idea is as much, I would suppose, as somehow moving up in the draft to get Cam Newton, which, I’m sure, is the Dolphins wet dream, lol.

And if the Dolphins somehow get Cam Newton, no way they’re drafting another QB later in the same draft. No effin way.

> At age 30 Carson would be a HUGE upgrade over what
> we have now IMO.

Exactly, that’d probably get the Dolphins damn close to a title (all things pertaining).

Yep, you got it. Then the question would be, who would want Henne, and how much would they give for him? It’d have to be to some QB guru guy that wants to try and develop him, like say to Washington, maybe get a #3, who knows, maybe a 5. He’s got a really good arm, Henne, that’s what’s scary, maybe a few years behind Carson, who knows. They’re kinda similar, maybe Henne would learn something, or jell, or whatever.

But, it’d hurt like hell if Henne goes somewhere and excels. Gawd that’d suck. Plus, the back up position would be open, and that’s another quandary altogether.

But, here’s the real point, the Dolphins are, seemingly, a QB away from being a bonafide contender. Jeeeze. They find one, and look out. They’ll probably still need more acquisitions to take the title, but not much more.

My point was Henne has not shown the play making ability to have brought us back like Straub did last night. Insert Henne in that game at half time and the Ravens win going away. He is at best (like you have said) a caretaker.

Glad you agree on the speculation.

Perhaps you’re right on CN. Depending where we end up (most likely a few ticks above mid-pack) we’ll be slightly out of the target range. Or maybe there are a few other rock chuckers worth considering at that point? I’ll leave that to the draft guru’s and their prognostication gazing globes.

I’m betting Carson would love to get out of that zoo he plays in and reinvigorate his career in the sun. On paper it looks like a wonderful potential marriage.

I don’t think there’s a fool GM in the league that would give us a 3rd for Henne. But I’d jump on that pony if it happened to walk by. A 5th is just a get-out-of-town ticket and I’d consider using Henne on the scout team with an offer like that. But that may be too much for the kids psyche to handle. Probably better for all parties to get a divorce and move on.

You make a point that I’ve been making a number of times. Specifically if we had high-level QB play on this team we’d be right in the middle of the hunt.

Put Palmer with Marshall and Bess and Hartline (who wouldn’t have gotten injured trying to catch one of Henne’s off-target missiles) with Ronnie and Ricky and Fasano et al and suddenly… Well YOU get the picture.

As far as Henne turning up somewhere else and lighting it up… Well, how’s Ginn doing?
Forgive my sarcasm but that’s a really big reach IMO. But like you say it’s a possibility, but not a plausibility IMO. If Henne goes bye bye – I wish him good luck and blah blah.

I agree this team is NOT that far away. But the QB position is like a giant mountain. And when you ain’t got one the uphill climb is almost impossible.

Good thing we play at sea level.

VY is a mental disease type "player." He would propagate a meme and absolutely ruin the chemistry (i.e., "culture"winking smiley this regime has worked to install.

But he might be OK in the WC. Hummm.

NOT.

RESPONSE: I respectfully disagree. Until now I thought of him as a competent journeyman QB. But that interception really rattled me. Anyway, I said that this was an example of the QB costing his team the game.

I didn't say that he sucked so bad throughout the game that he cost his team the game.

Unlight the other people arguing with me on this board, I only say that if the other elements of the team are performing perfectly and this one component sucks.

My statement was part satire. Those people to which I just referred who blame Henne for losing to Cleveland and not beating a 9-2 team by a greater margin than we did are the ones saying "He lost us the game."

My satirical statement was "NOW THAT'S LOSING YOUR TEAM THE GAME."

After that throw, the game was over. Can that be disputed? So don't talk about anyone "losing a game" unless it is that dramatic.

My point is that Straub can flat out play and saying he lost the game because of that last throw, well the throw caused a score that lost it but the team lost the game.

I'll take Straub or another like him in a heart beat. I'm not a Henne hater but based on his performance this year I'm not sure he will ever become as good as Straub. I'm just flat out tired of making excuses for the guy. Time to show up or get the hell out of Dodge.

I really want to see Henne perform like a real QB. Make good choices throughout the game and put the ball on the money. I also want to see our receivers make some big plays and catch the freaking rock even when it's not right on the money.

Dam, I'm spending way to much time on this subject.hot smiley

That's it Leon. Get focking pissed off. We have a right to be pissed based on the rotten eggs Henne has been laying.

Of course, that's only because of...(((drum roll))

THE ENTIRE TEAM and coaching staff.

Thank god we've got a golden boy like Henne!

Go Henne!

I have to say that I don't agree with you completely, but some of your posts are at least entertaining.

Now aren't you tired of the Henne crap? What about the rest of the team?

I agree Leon, Henne is crap. But there's a lot to like otherwise.

Here's a list of dudes I like on this team.

Jake - tho he is NOT the dominating player we was (driving asses 5 yards downfield into the dirt). I hope his soldered shoulder holds up.

Ronnie - gradually getting his burst back. Once again, not the player he was b4 injury, but I love his “game” and maybe the best smile on the team.

Joe B – underrated by the kindergarten around here. The dude has done a serviceable job for us and for the most part stayed on the field.

Field also = punter. He’s top shelf.

FG kicker is MVP (Carpenter?)

Fasano – he’s a classic football player. Not spectacular but a winner.

Carey – too fat and lazy. But he looks good at the dinner table.

Vontae – perhaps the dumbest Dolphin is linguistic terms but the dude has game and another great smile.

Sean Smith – a relative of Roberto Duran (get it?) and a kid on the rise. He could be scary.

Soilia – love the development and his light came on. Could be scary if he grows a bit more. On the rise.

Wake – I mean, OMG. Nuff said.

Dansby – best FA acquisition this regime has made. Excellent. Perfect fit.

Polite – love him. We need more tough SOB’s like him. Very impressive person.

Langford – solid. Smart. A very reliable long term dude (no major surgery in college).

Moses – very impressive athlete. I think his light is coming on. Another one who could be scary.

Reshad Jones – it will be really difficult keeping this SOB off the field. Great pick.

The young WR’s in mass – loads of talent and with the right QB, you’ll be SHOCKED!

Brandon M – love him. He’s a serious nasty SOB. Wants to win. He’s getting with the program here. Again, with a QB he’ll be pretty sick.

Kory Sheets (IR) – will have a big impact with outside speed and check-downs. HUGE loss b4 the season IMO. He would have helped Henne more than a rubber python.

Odrick – another surgery fatality but he’s a real specimen. If (???) he recovers and gets ride of the fine china fragility = Terrorist in waiting.

Misi – love his name and he will OUT WORK everyone this offseason. Watch out for him next year. The dude loves to break bones and he will…

Nolan Carroll – looked amazing early in training camp. Started thinking and got in trouble. Now he’s playing. The dude was a GREAT 5th pick. I think his future is very bright.

Sexy Lex – love the kids 'tude. He’s another “just a football player” type who is a great team SOB.

John Jerry – if he works at it – he’s got the potential to be a star G. Is he lazy? This regime will blow his ass out if he is. I expect him to make a BIG step in Y2.

I could go on but I’m tired.

Stank out.

Anyone watch that QB special ESPN had on last night? It was very insightful into the mind of NFL level QB's. They all agreed on something that resonates within this thread, and to a greater extent, our team.

Every QB on every team, to whatever extent they play, good or bad, will reflect the outcome of every game. Due to the positions inherited nature(QB in the NFL, see Alpha Male)the person playing QB will take an exaggerated portion of acclaim when the team is doing well, and an overwhelming(sometimes unmerited)portion of the blame when the team is not doing well. In my mind this description of the position describes Henne's situation perfectly. He may not be the only reason that the offense is floundering at the bottom of the league in production, but he's the starting QB. It comes with the job.

For all the talk about how Henne is cool under pressure, didn't force things in that Jets game, his answer to the reporters when asked about the performance struck the wrong chord with me. He lamented on the woes of the entire offense while incorporating himself as the reason. I would have liked to have seen him just say in not these exact words "I sucked, it's unacceptable and I've got to get back to work so I can make sure this doesn't happen again. I understand that had I played better, this game could have gone an entirely different course. I want the game in my hands and want to perform so the coaches have confidence in my ability to win games for this team."

I guess I can hope he figures it out, maybe go talk to Marino. Do something, cuz at the rate he's going, he's going to be out of a job.
