What surprises me is this decision came from within the organization, not from the league. I honestly think the writing was on the wall, and to not lose face they said we gotta do this or we're gonna look like the pieces of sh%t we are.

Well they still look like that.

That is reasonable, I would have liked to seen his field priviledges revoked for a couple years though.

You think a 1st class organization like Dallas would let the guy off the hook with just a fine and suspension? No way, Jerry Jones would have fired that guy himself!
Sparano a no nonsense coach wouldn't put up with that kind of behavior on his sidelines something tells me he would fire that guy himself as well.

I guess when you are a classless organization like the N.Y Jests you can get away with disgraceful behavior like that and only have to pay a fine and miss a few remaining games on the season.

I know the guy apologized and was remorseful but that is something that should still cost him his job, he is very lucky as far as I'm concerned as most other organizations would have terminated his contract.

Yeah, then Jerry would have insisted that he become the strength coach himself, as well as the coach, general manager, and captain of the cheerleading squad.

this guy probably makes 40k a year and probably is at most qualified for a job that pays less than that outside of the nfl. What he did was really stupid but to fire him and ban him from the league would probably ruin his life. I'm OK with this outcome

You're kidding. The NFL has made a decision on this already?
He should have been fired for sure. But the NFL should fine the team and Ryan just like they did with NE and Denver. It's cheating plane and simple. That sort of thing starts from the top. The team and the head coach are responsible for actions of their employees on the field and in their facilities or when the team is together. Just like any other company.

I keep hating the NFL more and more each year.

Nolan Carrol made a good point when he said the coaches started this sh*t by opening a can of worms.....now he has to deal with it.

I guess from what the article says he talked sh*t to Ryan afte the game.

Yea even the nfl site refers to this guy as an "aide" not a "coach". They are sweeping this thing under the rug and putting a lid on it asap.
