There's no way the Eagles let Vick go. They've already let it be known to the rumor mill they will franchise him if they can't get a long-term deal done in the off-season.
I agree, stay with Henne for another year, keep Thigpen as a backup...then bring in a F/A or draft someone else to round out the roster and increase competition.
An agressive and innovative OC is more important to the team right now anyway, JMO.
We have bigger fish to fry this offseason than finding and bringing in a starter to replace Henne for next year.

I think you bring in the best guy you can get to compete with Henne and THigpen, whoevers is best starts.
I would rather see us draft another QB high, or possibly Kyle Orton is he became available. But I would rather replace Thigpen with Orton and then draft a Qb to compete with Henne and Orton

I want to save our draft picks for positions that pan out more often in the 1st round, like Center or TE. We also need to pick up at least 2 RBs. Regardless, I agree about opening it up. When TC starts, there should be no clear-cut starter at QB. It should be wide open.
If a great QB, that they believe is available falls to us, then I am not sure you can pass him up. I also agee that Center is a huge need and if a stud center is available we dont pass him up either. TE, Aaron Hernandez didnt go until the 4th rd, and he is probably the best recieving TE drafted last year IMO. So I agree, Center, TE, QB should be priorities.

I just worry that evaluating QBs can be a crap shoot. No one can KNOW a guy will be great. No one! It's tough to evaluate any skill position (QB, WR, RB ), but with QB it's a mental thing, which is the most difficult. With WRs or RBs, the busts usually have injury issues (i.e. it's not about talent or potential). The same applies to TE. Non-skill positions (like Center) are MUCH easier to evaluate.
If we DO decide on a QB in the 1st round, there better NOT be any good Center, TE, or RBs available at that point. Else we're taking a HUGE risk.

I don't see Orton becoming available. He is signed through 2011. That is unless we trade for him which I doubt.
Denver, whoever the new coach will be would be nuts to move Orton even if he drafted a winner. The guy he might move is Tebow. Really I think Denver stays with what they have. They have way to many holes to fill to worry about QB when Orton has been just fine.
We need to upgrade the OL first of all. I don't see an elite QB coming our way through the draft this year anyway.
Oh, where are all the Quinn lovers. I bet we could get him cheap. Why aren't you Quinn lovers jumping up and down for him?

RESPONSE: At this stage of their developments and given our team, I might too Kitna being a solid vet and Henne needing developement time but unlike you, R/Jay I would not end up calling Kitna NO Good when Hartline starts letting Kitna's passes bounce off of Hartline's hands.
It’s highly doubtful we’ll get anything more than a temp patch via FA. Maybe we can get lucky with a trade. But the real alternative is in the draft, and regretfully that means a developmental period yet again – but there’s nothing else to do other than bite the bullet and move forward.
On thing for sure IMO. Doing nothing is absolutely no answer.
Odds are Henne starts next year opening day, but at least we can have some legit young talent on the roster developing and let things unfold from there. If Henne lays another egg as he’s done this year we’ll have a meaningful alternative. Now if that dude sucks to we’ll just watch women’s volleyball…

Victor why would you not attempt to solve the #1 problem as soon as you can? Do you think there are absolutely NO viable QB's coming out? No one who can compete?

If Kitna locks on to his receivers, throws into triple coverage, and flat out misses short passes on a regular basis, then yeah, I'd definitely say he sucks, too.

2 reasons:
1. I don't feel it's our #1 problem. You feel that way, I don't.
2. The chances of hitting a good QB in this coming draft is much lower than other drafts where more good QBs come out (like the year Eli, Rivers, and Big Ben were drafted, Marino's year, etc...).

RESPONSE: Kitna won't do that. He is more than a 3rd year player. However, he probably did it in his 3rd year.
