I will cut Henne some slack when he puts a good run of games together and doesnt throw at least one pick a game.
But talking of qbs with no running game,i can remember a fella called Marino doing a pretty good job without much of a running game in his career...and as for Favre throwing picks with his "gun slinging",well he still has a ring on his finger.

By that logic you'd probably say the Vikings were pushovers in the 70's because they didn't win a Superbowl. What about the Bills in the 90's? They sucked, right?

I meant they went to the SB in the 90's as well.

The Henne era is OVER!!
Posted by: socalphin ()

At leaast as a starter. He may serve as a suitable backup one day, but he's definately not a starting, top tier QB in the NFL, nor ever will be.
Why? Because he's too slow on too many fronts.
Slow footed - basically a statue in the pocket, and has little to no pocket pressence.
Slow processor - takes way too long to read coverages and find the open receivers. The NFL moves really fast and his mental ability can't keep up. And once he sees an open receiver, his brain won't let his arm make consistant, accurate throws.
Slow learner - Henne's been in this system for over 2 years now, and he's still having trouble grasping the basics of ball and clock management.
At Michigan, his flaws were disguised by the overwhelming talent around him. Michigan won because they just out-talented everyone (except Florida). In the NFL, everyone is pretty much even, and your actual talent level will be revealed.
Henne is a backup at best. End of story.

What about Sean Smith, Chris Clemons, Joe Berger, Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, Ritchie Incognito, Vernon Carey, Brandon Marshall, Bennie Sapp, Dan Henning, Tony Sparano???

What about their era? I guess they've had such a stellar season that we shouldn't talk about their game.

I don't think that we have below average running backs.

Your blind as a bat. Yes we don't have the best wr's but hello it wasnt Hartline running ten yards deeper than Henne's throw, it was Henne who threw it 10 yards behind BOTH TIMES!!

It wasnt the WR'S who dropped the balls so that the Defense snatched up 3 pass's for INT's it was Henne's ball placement, and also AGAIN FOR LIKE THE 20TH TIME THIS YEAR!! batted ball on the goal line because he can't throw it with a arc!

Henne, and HENNING are the problem's plain and simple.

Delhomme looked better than Henne yesterday and he is average at best!

Get off his jock strap GBO, and admit that he isnt the answer at QB.

You keep telling us youve been a fan for all these years, and so what? Obviously you havnt learned anything, if you think the rest of our team is the problem instead of Henne.

Below average RB'S lol......

Your right about a poor O-line, and we don't have all the fastest wr's but they do enough.

No I am not a huge fan of Sparano but he is passionate, problem is Henning, and Henne.

Yesterday clearly show's this.

Henne/2010 = Ginn/2009
Posted by: montequi ()
Date: December 06, 2010 08:11AM

How quickly we forget, lumping all our blame on a single player. How many people on this board have regretted getting rid of Ginn because we have no real speed at WR now? Now people are saying Henne has to go. Be careful what you wish for. You might not like what you get in return.

what has ginn done this year? 7 catches for 86 yds and no TDs. I agree somewhat with your premise, but Ginn sure isn't an example that works

Brian Hartline has speed and unlike Ginn, he can actually catch the damn ball. We don't have a QB who can deliver the ball.

Also, comparing a KR to the QB doesn't really work. A bad KR doesn't doom a team to mediocrity. A bad QB sure does.
