You're right, they already lost to Baltimore. I should have said they still have games at NE, Pit, and Chicago. Should be three tough games for them.

It could be close since we have the easy part of our schedule now and the Jets and NE have it tougher. But the Dolphins have been the same team all year long. We're able to grind out wins against bad teams, pumping in the field goals, and if we get a lucky day on defense where we don't give up huge returns and/or big passing plays, we can beat semidecent teams. It's not going to be enough. We'll end up 9-7 or 10-6 if we manage to beat the Jets. Meanwhile, the Jets and NE both play Buffalo and get a win there, already getting to at least 10-6. They won't be able to lose enough games to stay behind the Fins. And the Ravens and the Steelers have easy schedules, they'll be better than 10-6.

If we finish tied with the Jets, and this assumes we beat them, then the next tie breaker is division record. Right now, the Jets are 3-0 in the division. So, one of the losses we would need them to have is against the Pats or the Bills. And we would need to beat the Pats and Bills. Then, we'd both be 4-2 in the division.

The Green Bay game does give us a leg up. But, to maintain that advantage, we need the Jets to lose to Pittsburgh or Chicago. Or else, we give that game back. And we have to beat Cleveland and Detroit.

And if the common games tie breaker is even, which would mean the Jets beat one of Pittsburgh or Chicago, then it's on to conference record. The Jets are 7-1 in the AFC, and we are 4-4. So, we need the Jets to lose 3 of 4, to us, New England, Pittsburgh, and Buffalo. And again, if that happens, it just moves us on to the next tie breaker, which is strength of victory.

It's going to be tough.

That Pittsburgh game screwed us. Pittsburgh isn't that good of a team. Their pass defense sucks. Bills should have beat them yesterday. Bills are pretty solid for a 2 win team

Sorry but our shot at the playoffs came when we lost to both the Jets, and Pats, and the final nail was Pittsburg.

The Bears ok that was the FINAL nail in the coffin, but seriously we needed to beat either the Jets, Pittsburg, or NE at least one of them, then we would still have a shot.

Even if we win out there are 7 other teams better than us, with 5 of them holding the tie breaker, or 3 games ahead.

I think we will beat the Jets, and lose again to the Pats, just because the Pats always destroy us on the rinky dinky BS they pull out, and we won't get off the field when they will consistantly have third and short, especially with Woodhead.

So in short we will end the season 10-6 With us losing to NE.
Unless KC lose's 2 games, and we sweep with the Jets losing 2 other games, we are finished. About a 90 percent chance that we don't get in.

Oh well Henning will be fired, and we will hopefully have a soli draft to complete the team, starting with finding a awsome center, and o-LINEMAN, and well who know's.

They were saying on the radio and i agreed with it that we still have the jets and the pats away......They said these two games were loses in the book and i agree..and we needed at least 10 wins to have a chance at making playoffs....If we lose against the pats and jets and win the rest that would make us 9-7 and out of playoffs....

But...

I dont know why but we play a different game when away so who knows what might happen...

I think there is 20 percent chance we win these Two games....this team is like Dr jekyll and mister hide....

Now i hope we win both games and i would gladly eat some crow.

Has everyone ignored the fact that we're 5-1 on the road and 1-4 at home? It's not easily explained, but don't rule us out @NY or @NE.

I agreed that we will probably lose both jet and pats game and at the same time who knows what might happen since we play so well away....

Overall i think they will be too tough for the phins to handle.

we'll see.

Hope im wrong.

Huh? confused smiley

Seems like you're trying to have it both ways while not really saying anything. Have you ever run for political office?

I honestly don't see Miami getting in at 10-6. The most realistic way Miami gets into the playoffs is for them to win out and have the NE/NY Jets loser of next monday night, lose another game in addition to losing to Miami.

The road is simpler if NE loses to the Jets in that Miami would have division record tiebreaker over NE.

If the Jets lose to NE, Miami needs the Jets lose to Pittsburgh or Buffalo, a Chicago loss doesn't help them in the tie breakers needed. Even if the Jets do lose to NE/Pittsburgh & Miami wins out, the strength of victory tiebreaker would currently belong to Miami by only one win.

While getting in over Pittsburgh or Baltimore is possibility, it seems more unlikely with their schedules and essentially they both have a 3 game lead on Miami.

Exactly only a falling out by the Jets and our team not losing any games is about the only playoff scenario for us to be in the playoffs.

I still think we are better off rooting for the Pats simply because the Jets are lucky to have the record they have, they have pulled out some fluky wins this season.

Pats are a better team than the Jets and if any team could lose a few more games before the season ends it would be the Jets not the Pats.

Also add to the fact if Miami is still in the hunt in the last week of the season which is possible if we can take care of business, the Pats would probably have the division sewn up and may rest starters on the last game of the season making that game at least a little more winnable for the Phins.

It sucks having to rely on other teams to lose and rest starters but to get into the playoffs I'll take any advantage we can get.

I don't see us catching the Pats and we may not catch the Jets either but we have a better shot at catching the Jets if anything.

Sorry, I will never root for the pats or jets. Never. Call me evil, but the only thing I am rooting for is for their plane to crash.

Then we win no matter what. cool smiley

Pats are better coached, but NY has more talent and depth (except for QB ). You never really know how things are going to go.

Ouch. Too far. I mean I hate their guts too, but not enough to want then all dead. Maybe I'd root for their plane food to be tainted with salmonella, yea that would work.
