Chad Pennington- an apparent shoulder injury, probably season ending, maybe career ending.
Chad Henne- possible dislocated knee cap, possibly season ending.
Jake Long- dislocated shoulder. If an MRI shows no structural damage, he can probably continue to play, albeit in pain.
Cam Wake- hip injury. Status for this week's game is unknown.
Yeremiah Bell- has been dealing with toe injury for weeks, go x-rayed after the game.
Chris Clemons- conflicting reports. One says cramping, another says knee injury.
Joe Berger- leg injury, was replaced by Cory Procter in the 4th quarter.
Vernon Carey- knee injury, did return to the game.
Kendall Langford- foot injury, returned to the game.
Obviously, no matter how high you are on Thigpen, the QB injuries are bad news. Thigpen is a running QB. That means he takes hits. And if he were to get hurt, we are going to have to turn to someone off the street.
If you think the running game is bad now, imagine if Jake Long was to be out for an extended period. Our guards have been awful, and Vernon Carey has not been 100%. An injury to Long would be devastating.
The Cam Wake injury is scary. He is our only source of a pass rush.
The Bell injury is not good news. He is a leader of the defense, and a dependable player. Tyrone Culver is not.
And the Berger injury could be more problematic than people might think. Our guards have been terrible, and Berger has been the only steady player in the interior of the line.
So, we now may be worse on paper than the Buffalo Bills! Remember last year's game when we lost all those O-Linemen? Who must we continue to have a game each year like that?
If Henne's kneee is just a dislocation, depending on the severity, it could be weeks up to six months. These types of knee injuries are the least threatening to long term play.
Boy, yesterday was one of those days. I'm really sorry that so many players suffered injuries. Pennington's injury may sideline him forever. The injuries to others may not be as damaging. One could say it affords some players the opportunity to step in and step up their game. Perhaps, this may be the case. Thigpen who came off the bench did a very credible job.

Or get crushed, which means we'll lose our 3rd QB.
