I think the move works in the short term, but long term sets the team back big time. we now need a new QB of the future---but we're not 100% sure he's not on the roster now. If you are realistic, this team is not winning the SB or even likely making the playoffs this year (if we somehow sneak in we're destined for another 1st round whipping). So it's about contending in the future and I don't see how this helps us do that.
I agree with you if, we dont give Henne another chance at some point. I think Henne doesnt really show much emotion nor will he get his confidence killed by this move. I dont think this benching has to be a bad thing for his career. I believe he will buck up, take his job a bit more serious, learn from the leadership of Pennington and wait for his shot. I just hope the regime is smart enough to give him another shot, you just never know.
For all we know, Pennington lights it up for 2 games then gets injured and Henne will get his shot.
I think Pennington has everything Henne lacks and vice versa but just like Pennington can't get Henne's arm strength. Henne can't develop Penningtons leadership skills. Lets not forget that Henne had 1 full year under Pennington, all of last year, and now this year. Sorry guys, as much as we would like to believe that Henne can be the answer, HE CAN'T!!!
Besides Henne's lack of leadership skills, he lacks the BALLS to call an audible on the line of scrimmage. That is the reason Henne was benched, take that to the bank.

According to who "Welead" , The reaction time of a defense is based on the Arm strength of the QB. Watch the distance and cushion the defenders will now be able to give based on the arm strength of Pennington that is just a fact. They will be able to cover more of the field and rely on closing speed when playing defense against Pennington. Hopefully his knowledge of defensing zones schemes will help him overcome what he gives up in strength. But to say arm strength is the most overrated aspect of a QB, is foolish. Especially in the land of Dan Marino fans. His bread and butter was his quick release and arm strength. Dan Marino would not have been Dan Marino with out this aspect you consider overrated. LOL seriously

At this point in his career and in the current situation, not really.

got ya, lol... I just pictured him in his first preseason, with the same performance... I like the song idea, it basicly says "take nothing for granted"
