benched Henne for Pennington, effectively making QB a huge question mark yet again
cut Jason Allen, good enough to start for 7 weeks, our best special teams and had 3 INTs, and kept Nate Ness who we just picked up after Seattle cut him for getting toasted regularly
signed a 36 year old CB with a blown up knee, but couldn't wait a few weeks on Will Allen who had a much less serious injury and wasn't supposed to be out long
repeatedly cuts players b/c they get hurt---Grove, Roth, but just signed Harris and put in waiver claim on Merriman (but not Moss)
and we wonder why this team is always medicore at best???
I love how a bunch of arm chair Qb's, act like they have superior football intellect to not only legends of the game, but great football minds.
That being said, this site is funny, especially right now.

I am a VERY good tactionaner Crowder I love absolutley love stratagy games. Im also very good at them.
I am also a head coach of albeit a small po dunk flag football team "the dolphins" hehe that my son plays on.
Im not a super HC of any respectable organization, well I coach in upward sports, which is run by a church organization. however I know common sense, and how to motivate my guys to get them going.
Am I awsome at it? No do I make mistakes? All the time, but I have fun. and learn.
I wouldnt disscredit your opinions, because THIS IS A BOARD SO PEOPLE LIKE US CAN DISSCUSS OUR OPINIONS!!! OPINIONS!!.. Geesh sorry Crowder but seriously man I know your dissapointed but come on have a drink on me!!
you make a strong case for a lack of consistency -- yet we all know this regime is "rock solid" and built to last by Parcells. IMO they blew it right out of the box by passing on Ryan.
Even after that -- we've passed on a lot of young QB talent the past 3 drafts. Oh yea, let's not forget that amazing 2nd-rounder (drum roll with a huge bass line):
Pat "the super midget" White. Now that's how you build a smart disciplined foosball team!

Boy I hate comments like this. What is the point of a message board and being a fan if you are not permitted to be critical of the "experts" and "legends" (Ireland? really?) because they are experts and you are just a fan.
That said, if everything coaches and GMs did was unassailable, everyone would win the super bowl and no one would ever be fired. come off it.

before the season started the most optimistic amoungst us would have said 5-3, while the rest would figure 4-4, with the easier part of the schedule coming up. The team has clearly flattened out and Henne isn't as far along as most of us would like. The coachng staff decided to make a change and try to spark a team that it has been reported was starting to lose confidence in Henne (don't ask me for a quote it was on the dolphins tweets earlier today) that being the case the move had to be made. I am hoping that Henne some how figures it out and fulfills his potential....nothing gets a coaching staff fired more often than potential...see cowboys and soon to be vikings. I really believe this staff including Ireland are in survival mode.
those in dolphin land that want change ....if this move doesn't work , you just may get your wish.
I'm not sure about that BNF. Even if Henne was playing really good, the running game, defense and special teams still aren't good enough for this team to be 7-1. Henne got benched; but with only a few exceptions, everyone else on this team has to bear their share of responsibility for a 4-4 record...which should have been expected anyway.

To bitch about what parcells and crew has done is stupid. I guess you forgot what "Cam and crew" did to this franchise afew years ago. Or Saban and Crew. We were a bottomfeed in the league till these guys came along. While I think Henning HAS to go, Sparano is fine, and so is Ireland. We are having this debate because we are relevant and have high expectations.
Going to Pennington and signing Al Harris sure seem like desperation moves. And they don't mesh with the decision to pass on Randy Moss last week. It feels like they are now flying by the seats of their pants.
IMO we would have easily beat the Jets, would have scored 21 or more against NE by the half, would have beat the Steelers going away, had a serious chance against Balt.,
Absolutely NO MORE that 2 losses -- but heck, that's about as provable as Sasquatch!

Uh, hello. Last I checked this here current regime ain’t Cam nor Saban – they be gone.
So those who are accountable are the ones we’re dealing with NOW!
If you want to give Parcells and Ireland and Sparano a free pass go right ahead but don’t be telling me they’re NOT ACCOUNTABLE because you think we’re “relevant.”

Our team is so close. It has been a very frustrating season for everyone involved.
This move on the QB position I think may be just a little to early, but my big concern is that there is a big chance Penny will be knocked cold in his first game back.
Otherwise, the season is a long way from being over and this could still be a very interesting December.
We must focus in on the defensive front seven in the draft next year (and continue to maintain it through the draft). After seeing Pittsburgh perform, it reminds me of what football is (should be) all about.
I think Pittsburgh also has a reputation for not really trading much. They always build through the draft.
We could learn from the Pittsburgh model for the last decade.
I'm sorry if this upsets people here but, Cam Cameron had the right idea and wasn't given a realistic chance to put it into practice.
He was trying to build a team with speed, speed, speed...and speed.
Speed kills and intodays NFL if you have enough of it it's impossible to stop.
Sparano is simply jerking his knees at this point and Parcells should be banned from any conversation about the Phins...forever! He's a caretaker that is living on his reputation and that isn't very good if you look at his results over the past 15 years or so.
We're talking about the same Cam Cameron that:
Drafted Ted Ginn and "His Family"- a great Kickoff and punt return specialist.
In only his 4th game (preseason) sat in the stands to let his D Co-Ordinator (whom had much more HC experience than him) to get a chance to coach a game.
Told us he wanted his team to "fail forward" so they can learn to win.
Lost his team when he whined about Joey Porter in front of his whole team.
Coached the team to it's worst record in it's history, and was one Brian Billick stupid decision from being the first 0-16 team.
Oh, yeah, Cameron was right-he should have stuck around a few more years, we'd be much further along right now if we had listened to Cam...
Sparano is a pretty decent HC, and I really don't want to go through another reboot after this season. I hope he gets at least another year to continue. Ireland? I don't know...
I think this regime is rethinking not having any veterans on the team. Al Harris makes sense, as he will help shore up a weakness (this team hasn't stopped anyone on passing for several weeks-the only stops have been due to the other team missing). Randy Moss did not make sense- he is on the downside of his career, and his poor attitude is not needed on this already fragile offense. Could he have helped? Maybe, but I don't think the risk was worth it-too many negatives associated with Moss.
> benched Henne for Pennington, effectively making QB a huge question mark yet again
Henne’s play made the position a question mark. If he had played better, took the position, and kept it, we wouldn’t be talking about this now. But, he didn’t, and we are.
Chad Henne is, sadly, not ready.
Henne had every chance to secure the position, at least up until the “must win” situations started creeping in. The team tried to bring in competition; no one could beat out Henne. Except one guy, Pennington, who has much less upside and couldn’t finish an entire season.
Now Pennington doesn’t have to play an entire season, thankfully.
The Dolphins, who were in close games against some of the best NFL teams, might have just improved their QB position. We'll know soon enough.
> cut Jason Allen, good enough to start for 7 weeks, our best special teams and had 3 INTs, and kept Nate Ness who we just picked up after Seattle cut him for getting toasted regularly
“Good enough to start for 7 weeks?” Let’s just say, he started for seven weeks. J. Allen’s starting had more to do with Smith’s productivity.
> signed a 36 year old CB with a blown up knee, but couldn't wait a few weeks on Will Allen who had a much less serious injury and wasn't supposed to be out long
No one is relying on Al Harris. If he gets healthy again, and can play, the Dolphins will have him.
And Will Allen will try to play on crutches, so if they aren’t careful with him, he’ll contribute to his own demise.
> repeatedly cuts players b/c they get hurt---Grove, Roth, but just signed Harris and put in waiver claim on Merriman (but not Moss)
“Because they get hurt?” The Dolphins didn’t cut anybody because they were “hurt.”
No one would have relied on Shawne Merriman. If he gets healthy again, and can play, the Dolphins would have had him.
Randy Moss, as this staff sees it, is not coachable. When he became un-coachable in NE, he got booted out of there. Will he become un-coachable at Tenn? Who knows? The Dolphins just went through this crap with Joey Porter.
> and we wonder why this team is always medicore at best???
If you’ll remember, not long ago, the Dolphins were not mediocre.
The question is trajectory, it’s not been smooth sailing, but, the Dolphins are getting better, despite the staff’s mistakes.

c) a lot depended upon the development of Chad Henne. When Henne didn’t happen, the Dolphins had to go with a limited arm strength, injury prone QB, that was otherwise better than Henne at the moment anyway.
