Thats why he was unable to move the football when the team needed him most.
You could see it in his face , he look terrified when he new it was going to come down to his abilities to get the win.
Dolphins need a change at qb , this guy has no confidence what so ever
he checks the play down with wide open wr's due to the fact he doesn't trust what he sees.
If they don't trust Chad pennington or tyler thigpen , then they need to look in the draft for another qb, because hene isn't the answer.
It very well may be the coaching. They see the same thing we do in that he is not getting it done so they only call a very conservative play calling.
All last year the song was that we needed a big time receiver to open up the offense and help Henne out. But this year we have legitimate slot receivers and a big time threat who has proven to go after the ball, even in tight coverage, and we don't produce. At that level a qb should be able to make the plays with the receivers and line protection he is given. He has to be able to throw the ball to where the receiver is going to be not where he is at.
Playing QB is more than just throwing the ball to the right spot. You need to call it right to put your receiver in a good position to make the play. The ability to audible is a lost art in today's NFL. Peyton Manning is a master at it. In fact, he nearly calls the game himself by overruling the OC on almost every play. Marino was also a master at it...until JJ took away his freedom to do it. That's why I question the coaching staff here. Does Henne have the freedom to audible when he wants? If he does but doesn't use it, then the blame is on Henne. If he doesn't have the freedom to do it, then you have to blame the coaches. Unfortunately, we really don't know which it is.
