Not sure about the result yet, but he's definitely a firey coach. He's much more active than Bonamego every was. Maybe he's just trying to keep his job, but with only 2 weeks to prepare, the best you could hope for was more focus and energy on special teams. It looks like Rizzi has given us that.

Coverage has been good and we haven't had a punt (fully) blocked yet. So yeah, that's an improvement.

Special Teams looks better this week to me. Do I think that's all because Rizzi replaced Bonamego? No. But the Special Teams definitely look better.

It all starts with emotion and focus, and, yes, the coach DOES have something to do with that. Remember how much better we looked when Jim Bates took over for Wanny? Bates fired up the team and gave them the confidence they were lacking. Rizzi has done some of that as well.

Dolphins special teams outplay the Packers' STs and we win the game by 3 points. What a difference a coach makes?

Have to with everything said about Rizzi. Our coverage and return blocking was great today. When we had a breakdown in blocking on the punt, he was in front of Sparano with photos pointing out the issues - seemed like he recognized it immediately and it wasn't a problem for the rest of the day. When Murtha f-ed up on the FG kick, Rizzi was in his face when he came off the field.

Than god we fired Bonamustgo. It looks like we may even have a real coach in his place.

Bobby Carpenter has to be taken off the punt team. That's two weeks in a row for him blowing an assignment.

Wouldn't be surprised if he gets released this week.

Of course, the team could take the approach of having Carpenter learn from his mistakes. But I doubt it.

I doubt it. He's Dansby's backup.

Any word on Dansby's knee? That's one moment I really did physically cringe. I hope it's superficial. He did walk off under his own power but who knows.

I"m not really happy with either back LB (Carpenter or Dobbins), but they're better than last years backups. Interesting to note, Dobbins plays better on special teams than Carpenter, but I think Carpenter plays better on defense. That's why Carpenter came in when Dansby went out. Carpenter is supposed to be better in coverage, and that's what a SILB does more often. What worries me is the other side. If Crowder goes down we get Dobbins, who's been no better than Ayodele was for us last year.

Rizzi should get the game ball...Special teams won this game!!!

2 bad plays by the same culprits... Carpenter and Murtha....

In my opinion they need to be taken off special teams...

Coming from someone who's played O-line in school, blocking on a FG unit/punt unit is about the most simplistic assignment on the field. You're assigned a gap. Simple stuff, any player should be able to execute it, which is why Carpenter and Murtha make me want to barf.

I don't think he's going to be released this week either, but I think the coaches should take him off special teams. He's terrible on them.

I'm not so sure. Granted, his instincts aren't any better than Ayodele's, but he is faster and speed can make up for a lot of shortcomings in this league.
