I'll admit, I'm just a fan. I have no delusions of knowing more than coaches at the NFL level. But, on 3rd down and 6, we run the wildcat; with Ronny going up the middle for a loss? Got to tell you, that was an odd call by Henning. We have a lot of problems that need correcting (i.e. special teams, defensing the run... etc.) but the play calling has been particularly peculiar so far this year. Any confidence I had in the competence of Henning is starting to wane...
Hey join the FIRE Henning band-wagon, Ive noticed all that goofy stupid play calling since last year.
We won't be elite with that old timer running the fireworks show.
I can come up with better plays for jimmany crickets. Seriously I like to tinker around the chalk board and come up with awsome plays.
HOWEVER the timing has to be right, and thats just it, his play calls are great, but there almost always in the wrong time to call it, and he doesnt utilize the force of the air attack with the 5 wide out's and shot gun formations, which again will always limit our offense, because we just don't have the run openning players to make our run team elite starting with our lack luster average schmoe Berger as our center.

You are right that call stood out to alot of people as foolish, including myself.
All I can say in Hennings defense is, we do not have the whole game plan and knowledge of it, so perhaps this play, in his mind played some important role in setting up something else later on..

I think you hit the nail on the head, its not that his plays are bad, but I do question some of the timing for sure, and the lack of utilizing the air attack as you said. But that could also have to do with Henne checking down and not having the confidence in the deeper reads consistently. What you call and what the QB's does is not always the same thing especially in younger Qb's.
