I believe it's time to make the QB change, certainly I believe Henne is the long term answer for the dolphins but he needs another year of mentoring, playing behind Pennington would be valuable. QB is not only physical but mostly mental, reading defenses, taking what the defense offers, manipulating cornerbacks and linebackers with your eyes, touch passes, putting the ball in places to give your receiver the best opportunity to catch the ball and get yards after the catch.
I wont say he was the reason for the lost on Sunday, many factors contributed from play calling, basic defense, poor tackling etc. Let me hear from you Dolphans
can we have a poll for how rediculous this poll is? henne is coming off his best game as a pro and you think we need a change? to a rag armed pennington who can't throw 20 yards???

Has anyone else noticed that we have about five different threads going that chastise Henne, started by people who either are newly registered, or registered a while ago but have been dormant for a year or two?
I don't believe that they're necessarily Jets fans. Because when I lived in Florida I encountered LOTS of "fans" like these.
Welcome, or welcome back to the board, guys. You are very entertaining.

Once again if our DEF would of played half a ball game instead of not playing at all, we would be 3-0 and this convo wouldn't even be taking place People need to learn where to point the finger.
Henne out played Brady against the jets and looked amazing watch that 40 yard completion and tell me penn could of made that throw???
Just like any team, the Dolphins have bandwagon fans, who can't jump off fast enough at the first sign of trouble. Hopefully they break an ankle or something in the process, and are unable to jump back on later.

Well I heard from you all loud and clear and it eveident Henne has a great deal of support as the QB, as stated previously I too think he's the long term answer. I also stated he was not to the only reason we lost on Sunday Night, but many of you attended the game and participated in the Boos when he missed Marshall and Hartline who were at lest three steps beyond their defenders! yes I agree, defense, special teams and "Play calling" contributed in a major way in the loss. Thanks for participating, let's correct the path of this ship on Monady night against another division opponent the Patriots*

Young quarterbacks develop by playing. There's only so much they can learn standing on the sideline. During the preseason, Jimmy Cefalo and Joe Rose, who both roomed with David Woodley at one time or another, both talked about how putting in Don Strock was the worst thing that ever happened to Woodley. They said that once he started looking over his shoulder to see if he was going to get pulled, he was done in mentally. You can't do that to young quarterbacks.
It's also interesting you mention the play where he overthrew Hartline. Hartline was not 3 steps beyond the defender. He had a step on him, not three. Three steps would have had him open by 5 or 6 yards. And on this particular play, one Dan Marino himself laid a good part of the blame on Hartline. Dan said that Hartline never made a move to sell the route, and just tried to run by Wilson. Dan said that yes, he beat his man, but by a small enough amount that it still required a perfect throw. He said that with a move, he gets more separation, and makes that a much easier throw for his QB.

Without placing blame on the QB or the WR, the throw was a very difficult throw. You can't expect all difficult throws to be completed. Henne made a lot of very difficult throws in that game, and complete most of them.
Most QBs couldn't even have attempted some of those passes.
