John Bonamustgo. Over the past couple years it seems like we really struggle to cover kicks and punt returns. Now, including the preseason, we seem to struggle with blocked punts. On the other hand, we don't seem to be able to block punts or kicks and our team can't seem to return the ball worth a crap. It starts with the coach. Is anyone else frustrated with our less than special teams?
How is this guy still around? He has been a complete failure and without question should have been fired after last season. If he spent as much time preparing and learning how to coach special teams as he apparantly does under Sparano's desk this team could easily be 4-0. Nice management skills Tony...
Sparano is the chump that is responsible for this crap. He hides behind those glasses and pretends to be a tough coach. The truth is that he didn't have the balls to make Porter get off the field last year and waited until the off season to make Ireland deal with it. I said that was what was happening and sure enough it was revealed as truth. Now I am telling you that he has wanted to fire Bonamustgo, but hasn't had the balls to do it. Yes I am calling for a boycott until Sparano grows a set and cans this worthless piece of crap.
This was the the most pathetic showing I have ever seen by anyone's special teams. Disgusting. Who do we draft with the 2nd overall pick?
Twilley, I agree that Sparano didn't have the balls to reign in Porter, and I can't' explain why he hadn't fired BonerMeGo.
But he isn't hiding behind the glasses. He was almost blinded as a youth in an accident. He has severe sensitivity to light and has to wear his sunglasses at night, like Corey Hart. He even keeps his office very dim...dim like the inside of Bonermego's skull.

I am aware of that, but he is still hidden behind them. We can't see his eyes, but he can't cover-up those beads of sweat and that crack in his voice.

If you took off the glasses you'd still not be able to see his eyes, because he'd either have to squint in pain or cover them another way.
I don't think attacking a guy's disability is a valid criticism. As the head coach, he ultimately bears responsibility for most of what happened last night. But he shouldn't be blamed for our not being able to see what color his eyes are.

Dude this is liberalism at it's worst. What makes you think I am "attacking a guy's disability". I am not blaming him for "not being able to see what color his eyes are." I don't give a crap about his vision problems. I was demanding that he grows a set and fires Bonamustgo. Nice to see he grew them. I wish he had done so sooner.
By the way, don't grill me about being insensitive by not giving a crap about his vision problems. Think about what I am really getting at before you respond.

Bringing politics into a discussion again. I'd love to discuss politics with you, I have a degree in it. But this isn't the place, Jonathan.
You've made it quite clear that you don't give a crap about his vision problems; you've said more than once that he's hiding behind his glasses. Yet you know that he must keep them on out of necessity. How is that 'hiding'? That's how you're attacking his disability. You say he's 'hiding' behind the glasses when he has no choice but to wear them.
That's like saying Mike Westhoff is leaning on his cane too much, he should stop using it like a crutch. Westhoff NEEDS his cane to walk. Sparano NEEDS his glasses to be around bright light.
Hey look at that lazy ass Stephen Hawking, hiding in his wheelchair! Sure he needs the wheelchair, but he's still hiding in it. I can't see what his butt looks like when he's sitting down all the time! And what about that phony voice machine he uses to talk. He's hiding behind it.
I guess you're trying to use the glasses thing as a metaphor of some sort? It's not making a valid point, I don't IMO.
My point is, why not criticize the coaching on the actual coaching mistakes (there are so many of them to choose from!!!).

You really read that and took from it that I was "attacking" his disability. "Attacking" the disability. Really? Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to say "hidden behind those glasses" he pretends to be a tough coach. I am sure you would suggest not to use it at all. But dude, DUDE! I was just painting a picture of the guy and that behind the hard ass fascade is really a confused desparate coach who didn't have the courage to put Porter in his place. Whether I believe it or not, I was infuriated by the pathetic performance by the special teams and was cathartically ranting. Then you come in and try to make out that I am "attacking" his disability. You've got to be kidding me.
Get this. When I say I don't care about his disability, I don't mean it in the way you interpret it. What I mean is that I didn't care about that part of what I was saying. The part I was clearly emphasizing is that I felt he should do the tough thing and fire Bonamegone.
The funny part is that I don't think Sparano would be so much offended by me mentioning the fact that he wears shades. Something tells me he would be more upset by the fact that I implied he had no nuts.
Please except my apologies for mentioning the glasses. It was a horrible and extremely insensitive thing for me to have done. I feel awful about it and wish that I would never done it. Not.
