at halftime by 10 or more (say 17-7). Do we pull Henne and play Pennington or Thigpen? Or do we stay with Henne and let him bring us back?
If Henne gets pulled, does it mean the coaching staff has lost confidence in him, based on the way the coaching staff has "protected" him the first two games.
I figured I'd ask now, just in case (albiet I hope we're not) losing.
This isn't meant to be a Henne or Henning bashing thread, I'm just curious what others think.
stupid thread..... its all about the way the game is going-- how did the jets get 17--- and how did we only get 7??....
henne has won on the road twice to start the year, why is this even a question???
The only way they would do this is if they intend to completely derail Chad Henne's career. Once a young QB has to start looking over his shoulder, it can destroy him mentally. You know, Henne had 4th quarter comebacks against the Jets, Bucs, and Pats in 2009. Including being down 21-10 in the 3rd against New England.
Honestly, way too much is being made of Henne's "struggles" in the first two games. He is completing over 61% of his passes, even with several drops in the opener. He has no turnovers. And he has a QB rating of 85.1. The offense features two new starters at WR, and a new interior of the offensive line. And taking away Ronnie's 51 yard run against Minnesotay, the running game is averaging a measly 3.1 yards per carry. These are all factors in the slow start of the offense. Don't forget, this is the same Chad Henne who completed at least 63% of his passes in the last 4 games of 2009. And the same guy who threw for over 300 yards in 3 of his last 5 games of 2009. And he now has a big time WR at his disposal, something he lacked in 2009. He will be fine.

That's ludicrous!! We need a constitutional amendment allowing donkeys in your bathtub!!
Henne has a better chance of coming from behind than Penni IMO. I think CP has 7 4th quarter comebacks in his entire career. If not for a couple rookie mistakes by CH, he would have almost half that many already.

I can think of another, more important, reason why not to do that with a porcupine.

Ok, now that one is hard not to break.
Back to football. I haven't commented on the real thread yet because I thought it was completely ridiculous. We could be losing by 50 points and Henne won't come out until, maybe, late in the 4th quarter. Henne's our starting QB this year, whether fans like it or not.

Thats why all the dumb law replies, figure this can't be a real question... OK week 3 first two games on the road are wins, and we are talking about taking out the starting QB??? I was not happy with the Offense in the first two weeks, but we won and this kid is supposed to be our future , why would you destroy him by taking him out?? Unless say he throws a bunch of picks and is getting hit often and you are down 50 in the 4th quarter and you just want to protect him.....
