I know we're not in the business of celebrating injuries, (even those of our opponents) I presume, probably, for the two reasons that:
1. it's never cool to see an athlete and formidable opponent who has trained hard to be there get hurt and have to hang their cleats up and
2. it's probably bad karma for our team if we were to celebrate such an event and we don't need to put a jinx on our teams health,
but Jenkins is out for the rest of the game apparently with a knee injury. Suffice it to say that if it is the same knee that caused him to miss all of last season, or even if its the other knee but he hurt it badly nonetheless, that is a huge blow to the Jets defense. If he's out for any period of time, running up the middle on gangrene may be a little easier for our backs. In any event, this injury is definately something to monitor closely.
I hate to see that, Jets or no Jets these guys are athletes today they play for the jets tomorrow they play for the phins hate to see a pro go down in the 1st qrt

I totally agree. It's always a nasty site to see. These guys make their living with their body's. If/when it goes, their career is OVER. And you hate to see guys lose it because of an injury.

True, but if it has to happen, it might as well be a Jet.
Torn ACL, out for the season. Sucks for him and I wouldn't wish that on anyone, but you think fat-ass Ryan is wishing he didn't promise those ornery N. Yorkers a Super Bowl right about now?

I have a hard time not cheering. Heck, when it comes to the Jets, class goes right out the window.
Their front 7 just got a lot worse, he is the anchor to their defense. Bet they are thinking of bringing back Douglas. I know Douglas is a DE but they need another body I am guessing up front
I think the injury, while damaging to their defense, isn't nearly as concerning to the Jets fans as the performance of their inept offense. They can overcome an injury that they've already learned to compensate all last year with, but the offense they have seems so bad it will all but take them out of contention of any kind of playoff run.
I agree that we should never celebrate an injury to an athlete. For starters, it's simply bad karma. I would rather beat a team fielding their best players and walk away knowing they have no excuses as to why my team just handed them their own asses on a platter. With an injury to a key player, the Jets will now use this as one of many excuses as to why they don't win the Superbowl(or make the playoffs) this year. Honestly I think this years Titanic couldn't happen to a better more deserving team.
Gentlemen, here's to watching Rex Ryan getting fired after he posts an 7-9 record this year!
