Just got home a little bit ago, pretty boring game but a win on the road in the NFL, let alone inside your own divison you will always take. Those type of wins are tough against anybody. Now, Buffalo is god awful, they might only win 1 or 2 games this year. We will get a better judge of this Phins team next week when we play a quality Minnesota team who had 10 days to prepare for us. Here are some of my thoughts on today's game...
1) Chris Clemons played a near perfect game. Made tons of plays, solid tackles, was outstanding.
2) O-line was a beast run blocking. Berger was great, he shut up a lot of critics. Incognito played well too. Vernon Carey still gets beat way to much for what we pay him but what ya gonna do? Pass blocking still isn't great but it's not awful either. Jake Long didn't seem too injured.
3) Looks like Ricky/Ronnie are in a straight 50/50 time-share. I still think Ronnie is a better player and the time-split should be more 70-30 in favor of Ronnie. Ronnie just does more for our offense.
4) I'm just gonna say it, Brian Hartline stinks right now. He dropped everything in the preseason pretty much. He had a couple drops today. This guy isn't a #2 WR. Now with Minny and the Jets coming up you can't make a switch right now, but after that might want to get Marlon Moore some reps as our #2. Bess has to stay in the slot so I wouldn't touch him.
5) Dansby was awesome. Highest paid LB in the league, now we know why! Nolan had him in the right spot every time!
6) Benny Sapp was also amazing in this game. He is a much better player than Sean Smith and its obvious watching the game in person.
7) Pennington is chomping at the bit. That due had his helmet on all game. Was pounding the football inbetween his hands. Was just dying to get on the field. He ain't made to be a back-up.
8) Difference between Vonte and Sean Smith. Less than an hour after the Dallas preseason game Sean Smith is on twitter fighting with fans. Less than an hour af the Bills game Vontae is on twitter thanking god that no players in today's game were seriously injured. One guy clearly gets "it", the other doesn't.
Other than that not much else to say. Good quality road win. Defense looked amazing. Beat up on a bad Buffalo team which you are supposed to do so you can't knock them for much. On offense the WR's can't drop so many balls. Good teams don't leave those "chunk yardage" plays on the field. You have to make them. And the food spread in the press box was dissapointing, that stadium is a dump and it gets worse every year. lol
I didn't think the o-line was good in the running game at all. Ronnie and Ricky did a lot on their own. They did not have holes opened for them consistently. And Berger twice got blown up early, stepping on Henne's foot.

We ran for 132 yards as a team and you are bashing the run blocking? Seriously? Ricky and Ronnie had no help with those 132 yards? WOW, some people are impossible to please. Berger was very good. A bad play here or there doesn't change that. Incognito was pulling amazing and opening up some huge running lanes. The o-line was very very good
Also forgot to mention Stephen Ross was at the game today. Walking around on the sideline in the pre-game like a politican shaking hands, giving out hugs, talking to anynone who would listen to him.
Its my opinion, and I should have expressed that. I am not sold on the guy, I hope he turns into a stud, and will root for him, but I just dont see it?
He did a ok job today nothing special, or horribly bad.

Berger isn't going to Canton. But today he was better than average and pretty damn good. 132 yards rushing in a game speaks for itself. To rip him for his play today is foolish.
Jerry played well. Next 2 weeks are the real test. Minnesota has 2 killer tackles. And the Jets are, well the Jets. And they will attack him cause he is a rookie.
Jerry played well but I think the next 2 weeks will give us a better gage on where he is at
Your right numberone he always has it on prepared. Anyways I don't think that anyone ripped our starting center, just gave his honest assestment on a player.

jesus christ no. You can't take pictures in there. You can't even cheer in there. It's a professional atmosphere where people are working. It's not a luxery box.

I know some people. When I used to have my Fins website back in the day I made a bunch of connections. If I want a press pass for a game I got a guy I can go too who can hook me up.

Minnesota is certainly a better football team than the Bills, but Thursday night Favre looked..old.

This guy didn't look like a "bust" to me today. I thought his tackling and run support were outstanding.

Agree. I didn't miss Jake Grove at all today, and I expected to. I wish Berger would stop stepping on Henne's feet, though.

I think Ricky lost a step a few years ago, he runs tough but doesn't break as many as he used to. Ronnie is the guy that makes something out of nothing. As long as he can stay healthy, 70-30.

What has happened to this guy? There didn't seem to be any objection to Hartline being the #2 receiver, but he didn't do ANYTHING today except drop a ball. It was Marshall, as expected, and Bess.

I was ambivalent at best about the trade of Camarillo for this guy. After today, It looks like I was wrong and that this was a good trade. Sapp played an good game in an area where we needed help.

Maybe not, but that is what he will be unless Henne gets hurt. I thought Henne threw too many passes too low and held on to the ball too long at times, but this may be an inexperienced QB's response to those claiming he doesn't have much "touch" on the ball. He was fairly accurate, but his receivers have to catch the ball. He still has only started 14 games, he's effectively a rook.

If Jason Allen keeps playing the way he did today, Sean Smith is going to have a tough time getting his job back. And he plays special teams, too!
************************************************************************
D-backs must make those picks when they have the chance, they don't come often. Two probable pick-sixes dropped today. Why didn't they use Fasano more? He looked good, and seemed to be running with authority. Why only run the double move with Marshall once? It worked the first time, but Marshall dropped it.

Why were you in the press box? Why would somebody want to give you free food?

Pretty much any NFL game I want within reason I can get a pass for. Like when Farve and the Vikings go to GB (a huge mega game like that), no. Ain't getting a pass for that. If I want to go see a Browns-Bengals game yeah I can get that. And any Miami game in Miami I can get into too, but I don't get down there that much anymore. I stay Northeast bound close to home. So when they travel up North and I can go, I try to go

We averaged 3.7 yards per carry, which is below where we need to be. Ronnie did almost all his damage on his own, on second effort, and breaking runs outside when there was no hole in the middle. It was not a stellar day for the o-line, by any measurement.
