I must admit..I don't know what to think. I'm the proverbial eternal optimist, but these moves are baffling. I haven't felt so uncertain since the 2007 season. It would be great if this one turned out so well, but I just don't know what to think.

It makes sense in an uncapped season because next year may not be uncapped. By cutting Grove now, they won't take the salary cap hit on his prorated bonus next year.
