Wouldn't getting Jackson be a little like like the Heat getting Lebron and Bosh (after already getting Marshall)? Seems crazy. Heck, forget Turner. I'd give up Hartline for him.

It would put our offense on the level of the Colts, Saints, Packers, Cowboys. To get him I would guess it would take....
Hartline and a 3rd in 2011
OR
Hartline and a 2nd in 2012
I would do that in a heart-beat. If they wanted Bess instead of Hartline, OK....i would make that switch!

3 game suspension to start the year and a few Jaeger-bombs away from a year long stint, I wouldn't give up to much for this cat. Plus all the money we would have tied up in the WR position = no thanks!

Having money tied up in the WR position is the new way of the league. RB's are a dime a dozen for the most part/on some level. Its all about throwing the ball down the field. The rules are set up that way. I would have NO PROBLEM tying up big bucks in WR's.
the suspension thing worries me, but we can't be hypocrites here. We have lived for years with Ricky Williams under the same deal pretty much. And even Marshall has 1 strike against him I believe. To now draw the line in the sand on that would be foolish!!
YOu can put language in contracts that if V-Jack got a year suspension he has to pay back the signing bonus and no cap hit would then occur. There are ways around it. Teams have smartened up now

Yeah after reading this, I too gave it a thought, but honestly I thought that Rumor is a sack of .hit and I was right.
I appreciate your enthusiasm Mikeo, but you just let the hopes and dreams of many dash on a false report.
Next time please give it a little more time, before posting somthing like this.
I find it funny though, how everyone was like GIVE THEM WHOEVER GET IT DONE!!
Lol Jackson is not worth the money he wants. Id rather have Hartline being paid alot less, and he wont take away attention from Marshall.
Now like Phinsfan2 said if the price was right, but it will never be, because he think's he is as good as Marshall. lol....
He has benefited from Gates, Rivers, Tomlinson, and a WEAK division.
I feel he has overated stats, and is on the bubble of top 10 wr's, deff not top 7.

It's amazing, no matter what I do he craps on me. He will send me nasty PM's over and over and badger me there as well. Then he gets mad when I throw him out of the fantasy football league and is "shocked" and "doesn't understand why" i did it. Nobody can be that dumb!
Can we just BAN him now? We all know it is going to happen eventually just like last year!

not to pile on, but that comment was ridiculous mia1. you want people to independently verify the truth of something reported on the internet before bringing it up for discussion? if not for "rumors" we'd have nothing to talk about in the offseason.

Thank yoU! And If your gonna be mad at anyone, be mad at the San Diego Chargers BEAT REPORTER!!! He is the one who posted the rumor/story on his twitter. He works for the local San Diego newspaper and CBS Sportsline. His name is Dan McLellan! Easy to find! I'm just the middle man for pete sakes!

I don't see us giving up a 3rd since we are already a 2nd rounder short. That and the fact that he is looking for Brandon Marshall money make this a very long shot.
It would have to be for a couple players. SD needs D-lineman, LT and a WR but they are not going to settle for career backups or scrubs....
I don't really want VJax anyway since he had a career year last year, before that he was quite average---I know since he's stunk up my fantasy team in the past. We need a speed receiver more than another big physical receiver. Not woth the money or the risk that he becomes average again.

I would have taken him. They could have cloned Revis 3 times and it wouldn't have been enough to slow down our passing game with Marshall and V-Jack!

Exactly. Mike, you did the right thing by posting the name of the yahoo that twittered it.
I'm OK with the VJ on this team. I understand why he wants a payday, the Chargers offered him a $3M one year deal, which is kinda low for a WR of his talent. As for the DUIs, that is hardly the worst thing a player could do. Still he's an idiot for not just hiring a driver.
I just dont see us paying him that type of money like we did Marshall.... cause thats how Jackson wants to be paid, maybe, but I wouldnt hold my breath
