Recently I've heard a few reports about the dedication that Vontae Davis has put in over the offseason. Maybe it's just me, but I think this guy is about to break out this year as a star in the NFL. I was listening to Jim Rome a few days ago and he was talking about how Vontae spent the offseason at an atheltic performance center with his brother Vernon. Word is that Vontae significantly improved his speed and strength over the summer. They also discussed the amount of film that he watched throughout the offseason.

I can remember watching this guy in college and he's always been a tremendous athlete, but it's really nice to hear how competitive he is. Vontae talked about how motivated he is by all praise given to Darelle Revis. In my opinon, Davis is more gifted athletically and I think that this is the year where he emerges as a star.

I certainly hope you are right.

yeah i think that knock on vontae is all of the mental mistakes. He was a rookie so it was to be expected but he is not a rookie anymore, this is his time and he will have his chance to show his ability. I just hope that if he has a break out year we dont have the same money hold out problems the jets are facing.
