Every year there are a few guys on every team. They are not starters, that are the fans favorites or sometimes just players you would like to see make the team... It feels like just yesterday I was rooting for Izzo to make our team as he was Zachs's roommate in their rookie year. Izzo would go onto stack his fingers with superbowl rings in New England... I am sure each one of you guys have a few players in mind for what I am talking about...
THis year my three at this point are, in no particular order
Patrick Turner
Pat WHite
Nate Ness
1)I like Turner because of his position of having potential and not getting a break last year and fighting through offseason injury and some tough press and dissapointments with not getting in much of game scenario last year.
2)I like Pat WHite for reasons I have explained before, no need to post again.
3) I like to see a practice squad guy like Ness who make very little and love the game succeed and his hardwork to payoff. It was refreshing seeing his post game attitude and interview, and a guy so humble and not expecting to do well... He seemed so proud and excited the line about his momma calling him and texting him dozens of time during game was "real".
The other two players I like but dont feel as if they are on the bubble and dont include in this group are Nolan Carroll and Reshad Jones

I have a feeling we are one (probably 2 though) bad preseason outing by Pat White I think from his time being over with in Miami. Can't see us carrying 4 QB's and with all of last year and a bad preseason game or two by White.....what is the reason to keep him around at that point?
let me add Jason allen to this list. He's our best ST player and an *adequate* backup CB with the best physical size/speed on the team. if it wasn't for the irrational hate of the guy for being a first round bust, people wouldn't be so eager to dump him.

I still wouldn't hang on to him if we have 5 other CBs that are better.

I am not sure he is our Best ST player but he is one of them. Cobbs and a few others have been studs on ST as well.
I also agree with your point that if he was say a 4th or 5th rd pick, i would probably like him alot more and would be less eager to not care if he makes the team. Sparano is talking him up, He is going to make the team it appears barring something miraculous. SO lets hope he has a good year
Agree. J Allen may be our best ST player, and he apparently doesn't practice very well, but EVERY time he has been given time at DB in a game he has made plays. I don't think he has gotten beaten for as many long touchdowns in his whole career as Vontae Davis did just last year, and against some of the same receivers. No, I don't think he's as good as Vontae, but he's nowhere near as bad as some people try to make him out to be. In my opinion, he's definitely a keeper.
ummmmm.... Did you watch Jason Allen under the Cam Cameron Regime... I think you might correct your statement about Jason Allen and how many times he has been beat...lol... Allen never really got in much as a starting corner. Mainly in those nickel and dimes but it wasnt pretty.. He was Ok as a safety... If he is balling, I look forward to it.. If it is just coaches hype, more resentment to follow for J Allen.. I sure hope he plays well...
under cam he had 2 picks in hist first start against the eagles. otherwise all of our DBs (our entire defense) looked like complete doofuses all that year
