And you accuse me of dragging this out. All you do is keep it going. But keep flip-flopping on this issue! I have addressed the football related points over and over. Now your knocking Deion for "cushy" coverage. LIKE IT MATTERS WHAT THE COVERAGE WAS!! Did he make the plays. The answer is YES!

Deion was the best CB ever at soft zone coverage. His closing speed made him an INT threat nearly every play. But line him up in man2man press and he'd get twisted around and lose the play. And like everyone points out, he was non-existant in run support. This made Deion a very 1 dimensional player, and forced every team he moved to to change its defensive schemes. But he was great in the one dimension he excelled at.

Yes and yes. Deion is funny as hell to listen to - even though I disagree with half of what he says. He's a bit like Screamin' A Smith only without the annoying voice and with a much better sense of humor.

If you spent more time talking football and less time talking about me, you'd realize we agree on most of this. But you've put so much time and effort in trying (and failing) to accuse me of "flip-flopping" that you completely miss the football aspect of this thread.

BTW, I think it does matter what coverages he can and can't play. Deion limited the defensive schemes of most teams he played for, and that could spell trouble for a DC. Deion was lucky he played in some of the schemes he did.

I agree, he made some great plays, but in other instances he was a liability. Playing CB isn't all about INTs. He's good, yes. Best ever? You're smoking something if you actually believe that. But I don't think you do, I just think you're looking for a good argument.

Thinking the best CB (or one of the best) or even (a 1st ballot HOF Ccool smiley...however you want to lable him was a libaility at times is moronic! It really is.

He limited defensive schemes? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! By taking away one half of a football field he let the defense blitz a ton, shift saftey help to other places. You have no clue what your talking about.

WTF? This babble makes no sense whatsoever. Talk about moronic.

Are you saying Deion wasn't a liability in run support? If so, you probably have never watched him play.

Or are you saying it doesn't matter if he was a liability in run support? If so, then you have a very unenlightened view of the game.

> You have no clue what your talking about.

Oh please. Now you've brought it to personal insults.

You really aren't interested in talking about football, are you?

BTW, I know exactly what I'm talking about. When Dallas brought Deion in, they had to scrap the Cover 2, which was the defense they won 2 Super Bowls with. Why? Because Deion couldn't cover man2man consistently.

He was effective, but he also forced the DC to change the base defense to hide his limitations.

If Deion was on the football field he wasn't a liability. YES THATS WHAT I AM SAYING!! To think otherwise is foolish.

Deion is a first round HoF love him or hate'm. One of the greatest corner's ever. No he was not a head hunter but he was not the punk others make him out to be regarding playing the run. The guy suited up and contributed in the world series and the super bowl. I dislike him but you can not take away that he is one the greatest athletes of the modern era.

Mizzou no one is saying he isnt a fantastic athlete. No one is saying he isnt HOF bound, people just either seem to be on the fence about his tackling abilities.

Basically his heart.

Deion was the greatest CB to ever play the game.

He most definitely could shut down a while 1/2 of a football field.

I saw a lot of inexperienced QBs, not even attempt a pass to his side of the field for long stretches of the game.

If he isn't a 1st Ballot Hall of Famer, I will be very upset.
