nobody is arguing with anything you are saying. Sid in NY was fired for things other than ratings and because in NY he is easily replacable in that market.

In Miami he isn't easily replaceable. He might leave on his own if a better job comes his way. But he won't be fired if he says something offensive like he did in NY. His ratings in Miami and the "who else we gonna get those ratings from" status in Miami save him alot.

He gets fired in Miami if his ratings justify it (which they don't right now) or if his personal deamons come back into his life.

Sid is a Giants fan. Not a Jets fan.

nah, Francesa isn't getting a partner. His ratings went UP since Russo left. Francesa doesn't like to share. Plus Francesa just lost his buddy Sal who got FIRED! That is a major change for him and his show, i don't see another major change in bringing in a sidekick for his show.

It's the summer, they need fill in hosts for vacations. That's all this is. Plus Sid can double-dip, work 2 gigs (miami and NY) and make more money

Being reported in a few places Sid's book did so well that WFAN if they can get clearance from CBS will bring him back in late August/early September for big money deal.

Sid has an "OUT" clause in his WQAM contract at that point in time. WQAM is pissed but they signed a hot radio guy who has the highest ratings in the stations history for a sports talk show host to a crappy deal and gave him a stupid out clause after only one year. They can't stop it if he wants to leave.

Sid got into it with Screamin A Smith on LARRY KING tonight. Great TV!!!

He went after Screamin A. Smith on live TV! Better than what ESPN had!

FOr what, for Screamin A SMith being right on the money and the first to report what was going to happen in Miami.... WHile everyone trashed him and made fun of him for saying it...Smith was vindicated tonight. Think about it Mike, you trashed him and made fun of him for saying it just like most others... and he was right... Riley pulled off the amazing rather then the ruining of the heat as you had once vaguely stated...

I trashed Screamin A Smith cause he reported the all 3 going to Miami story 2 weeks ago. Then 24 hours later retracted his own story. Only to 24 hours after that go back and stand by his original story!

Yes, Smith was right. But in the process he came off like a fool.

And didn't Screamin' A "predict" about five other scenarios as well. Tough to be wrong with that strategy.

Exactly! If Screamin A Smith would have stuck with his original prediction he would have come off like a genius. He hedged his bet a couple times, still was the first one to have the story right...but he did hedge his bet which causes him to lose some shine in this process.

WQAM just hired Michael Irvin to do noon-3pm everyday

That has to be a rough listen right there. Tough show to listen too. I can't see how that will be a success.

True, I know I wouldn't listen to Irvin. But UM fans (which are harder to find now that they're not winning championships lately) will like the move.

I'm no UM fan, but I'm glad to see a local station going back to targeting fans of an actual local team.

UM fans don't even go to UM games, not sure they will tune in on the radio and listen. Plus during non-football season I gotta listen to Irvin talk baseball? March Madness?? etc... please
