I think its soap opera stuff. The jets (as much as I hate them) are on a mission this season and Ryan is the kingpin. I think Ryan is kinda orchestrating this stuff w/ the media and his players.

Both Revis and Rex are gonna be on SIRIUS NFL Radio today to tell their side of thigns. This all sounds like its staged to me. It really does.

I think Revis bringing up other players probably isn't what the Jets wanted, and I think it will be the last time you see it happen. Minor slip up in the "script" of this is planned to play out

No not IMHO.

This is the start of more and ongoing smack between the Fins and Jests.

All theplayers know the others have to take care of their own business.

- as such it doesn't affect them and they give each other space for it, even if they would rather have themn at practices.

Wow - you argue against Parcells try to up the price of a worthless player in a draft (something he's done several times), but think the Jest are pulling off a 4 man conspiracy - including an idiot coach and loudmouth players - in the biggest and most prying media market in the country, all for no good reason whatsoever??????

I bet you believe what Oliver Stone tells you, too.

Truth is, that Jets locker room - stating with the coach - full of 15 different types of cancer all ready to go malignant at any minute. Rex isn't smart enough to handle that team. I can't wait to see the Jets fold!

but its not the "draft".....its a suplemental draft. A silent auction. And if you BLUFF you get nothing out of it!!!

And I never said I believe the rumor that its staged. I just reported what many insiders thinks. Wouldn't shock me if its true like the Larry Johnson thing. But I never said I totally believed it.

Learn to ready skippy!!!

sounds like it....doesn't mean it is. Just going off the little info I am hearing and reading.

I clearly stated in NUMEROUS posts I don't know one way or another. But HBO has a history of this stuff and a track record when it comes to that Hard Knocks show. Thats all I am saying.

Not to burst your bubble - I'm not an expert in every single post you write. I just responded to your posting "This all sounds like its staged to me" which does imply what you are thinking.

Sorry for the misunderstanding.

That is a good point. But I just don't buy it. What would be the motivation? The most important thing for the Jets right now is selling PSLs. I think Jets fans are - for the most part - complete morons, but I doubt that seeing their locker room fall apart (even if staged by HBO) helps the cause.

Rex does much better for his team's finances by calling out Crowder and Miami fans. Now THAT I think is staged for the fans.

I might be tempted to believe it was staged BUT FOR the fact that he went public with knowledge by his position coach and dragging in the names of other players, which is a big "no no" as another poster said.

To me it appears like the guy is a total jerk and we should do two things 1) Thank God he's on the Jets and 2) write a note to never consider picking up the bastard if he ever gets let go.

staged? you mean they have an agreement but are waiting a few weeks to sign for the cameras? and what happens if Revis blows his knee out tomorrow at practice or gets in a car crash? you think they are still inking that deal? that hypothetical completely proves there is no fix---no player would ever take that risk, and no agent would ever allow it.

ummmm, if you are this upset at Revis for what he did, you must despise Brandon Marshall and hate the fact that he is on our team.

RESPONSE: Ask MikeO what he meant by staged. He's the one taking that position. I just said that I might believe that it was all for show, "staged" even if only on his part alone, that he would make a big scene about how he is being mistreated (as he did in the article) and about how valuable he is given the reference to he and other team members being something like the backbone of the team, all to put public pressure on the team to offer him more money. That has definitely been done before.

What has not been done is to drag in the names of subordinate coaches and team members, which let to my conclusion that he is a genuine jerk.

is it not possible that he has signed the new deal and there keeping it mum until the show sees fit to announce it? im sure the league would allow it to happen because it breeds interest and attention and draws in ratings and money for them

Question: since you brought this up - where in NYC was this reported? Did you hear it on the radio, or subway, bar, NY Post, cab driver, etc.?

This is a very weird rumor, and the idea is just plain stupid (not that stupidity is beneath either the Jet organization or HBO). It just doesn't make sense on a lot of levels, and it does have implications in marring the integrity of the game.

But I get that the Jets need to sell PSLs, and getting this "rumor" provides a great cover for the organization. I mean, if you are a New Yorker about to shill out major money for a Jets PSL, you'd probably want to believe your team is just in the middle of some HBO marketing campaign rather than the organization falling apart. It is the kind of denial/stupidity that a Jet fan would go for.
