If Turner doesn't get on the field quick and produce there is noway he's our fifth receiver. There's young hungry guys desperate to make this team anyway possible. Correct me if I'm wrong but Turner doesn't even play special teams correct? Not sure, but I'm sure they want some kind of production from the fifth receiver spot.
And now with an injury also, I don't like his chances. How did this guy even get hurt?? He never played last year and they've been practicing in shorts.
Maybe doing squats or something LOL I think Grice-Mullen is going to really push for that last receiver spot.

I think Turner lost his chance to make this team. His only chance was to bulk up and convert to TE. Based on his practices, against NFL-caliber DB's he's not elusive enough to get open.
When you are 6'5 225 lbs and are labeled as not physical enough....something is wrong. The upside is that he was considered a late bloomer/slow developer in college and may be having the same problems in the NFL. Problem is that he won't get 4 years to prove himself here.
Hopefully he can pick up some tricks from Brandon Marshall who is very similar physically but BM is definitely stronger.
No way he switches to TE b/c the knock on him is his physicality, not his elusiveness.

Camarillo has started for the last 2 years. In 2009, Camarillo took 693 snaps on offense. Bess took 581. In 2008, Camarillo took 536 snaps to Bess' 406. I don't think they need to see more reps from Camarillo in OTAs. They've seen more reps from him during actual games for each of the last 2 seasons, and he continued to start over Bess that entire time.

The guy in the slot is going to have less snaps then the guy at number 2. Because of TE's taking his spot on the field. But the guy with less snaps had more yards and catches then Camarillo. That doesnt normally happen. But now in 2010, Ginn is not number 1 and Camarillo, isnt number 2 IMO. At the end of last year, Bess had the most yards, Hartline was showing what he has got to offer. Ginn replaced by Marshall. So now we dont need to give Camarillo reps? Bess was the slot receiever from day 1 of his rookie year. And my guess is that is where he will be this year as well. Camarillo needs as many snaps as he can to keep Hartline from starting over him. Camarillo and Bess snaps counts dont have really anything to do with it.
I think Hartline needs the reps so he can work into a full time 2nd WR role. He is the future opposite Marshall and will only get better. He is a 4.5 guy and Cam is a 4.6 guy. We need the speed even if it is only a little bit better.
BH played behind Brian Robiskie at OSU but clearly outperformed him in their rookie seasons. Robiskie was said to be one of the most refined receivers coming out in 09 so that really says a lot about Hartline.
Flanker:
1 Marshall
2 Turner??? (Not really another Flanker on the squad other than Camarillo unless one of the long shots make the team)
Split End:
1 Hartline
2 Camarillo
Slot:
1 Bess
2 Camarillo
That is my take as of now. I can't wait to see how the young guys develop in camp. There will be more talent available after the first series of cuts and hopefully we can pick up a big guy with speed to compete at Split End at PR/KR.

I agree with your analysis of Hartline and think he needs to be given a chance to flourish, he showed some nice stuff last year at times, and nothing was given to that kid by any means, he earned every single achievement he had last year. Hell I didnt think he was going to make the team, let alone get the snaps, forget about making plays. He appears to be one of the better picks last year. 3 out of the first 5 drafted players last year made strong contributions.
I agree MiamiDolphins4Life! I don't care what anybody says, there is no way in hell they cut Pat Turner this year! Pat Turner will make the squad and get at the very least, two more years to learn the pro game and try to adapt. Maybe he will or maybe he wont, but I guarantee you that the Phins will not do away with him until they give the time to see if he grows into a good player. Alot of receivers take 3 to 4 years to get accustomed and from what the press is reporting P.T. is working hard with Marshall and the coaches to learn all he can mentally while he is hurt.
We will not see the last of P.T. this camp or for the next one or two following. He will be given time to learn and grow.
