Ross said he "hoped" Henne would be better than Marino/Greise, not that he is. I think was all can agree it would be nice if he was better.
Ross is doing the right thing by setting expectations high. Wayne never did this, and where did that get us? Ross is declaring what he expects from his employees - nothing but the best.

I think all of this talk from owners, GM's, about how great everyone is, has to do with selling more season tickets by trying to get fans excited about the teams. Woody johnson, Stephen Ross, Jerry Jones, etc.
Ross is doing a little more selling of Henne because, it is a double win for him selling Henne, Helping his Alma Mater in recruiting and convince Phans they dont want to miss the next coming of Dan Marino live, so rush out and buy your season tickets or 5 game packs now!
I agree this does nothing good for your team. Parcells needs to tell Ross and Ireland to not eat the cheese. HAHAHA, Remember Jerry Jones was selling Romo after 2 starts, Parcells didnt think that was such a good idea. Let your team do its talking on the field, end of story.
Having watched Griese for the last year of his college and all of his pro-career, I would say Henne is a better passer (athletically) but certainly not, as of yet at least, a smarter passer.
Having watched Dan for his pro-career, I can say Henne can zip in passes into tighter areas with more speed but, again, given the mental aspect of even pure passing, I'd doubt that he can, as a whole, rise to Dan Marino's level in passing.
But hey, if he fulfills his promise even at that, what's there to complain about.
