I liked Norman Hand, he played well in San Diego and I wasn't particularly happy when we sent him there. Condolences to his family.

Size sure can be related. The leading cause of unexpected deaths are blood clots. When I was 40, I put on few pounds and my activity went down due to a job situation. I ended up with blood clots going in both major arteries going to my lungs. That very nearly killed me.

I learned that Blood clots kill more people than AIDS and breast cancer combined, and is one of the leading causes of sudden deaths like this. In Norman Hand's case, it is a very strong possibility.

It sounds like he has a family that loved him. I hope you all will join me in praying for their peace.

It was heart disease that killed him in the news reports that came out today.

When these guys leave the league they got to get that weight off. This is a very sad story

Reminds me of Michael Strahan. He retired and lost like 50-75 lbs right away, was kind of shocking but understandable.

For sure. The human body simply can't support that mass for long.
