Gotta see the pre-season first.

You can't base the pre-season on the regular season Chyren it never ever is a good indicator. I say 11-5 if everyone stays healthy.

I think anything from 7-9 to 11-5 are reasonable prediction at this point. Anyboy outside of this range is either a bright eyed optimist, or even more pessimistic than I am, and that is hard to accomplish grinning smiley

I agree with your predictions. I mean its early but as of today I would agree with everything.

If Farve retires that Week 2 game is much easier lets be honest and that could be a win.

Don't think Favre will make a difference. We win that one and go 12-4.

I Like it! That should be enought to make the playoffs. Steal an extra one from the Pats or Jets, and we could get have bye in the first round.

Well, preseason is not going to give you a 100% guarantee on the season but what we are being asked to do is to judge the season without even seeing the preseason.

My point was that I don't know how you even begin to do that.

At least in pre-season, you can try to see how your rooks will perform.

Without that, you are basing your opinion of the future on really nothing.

Now, given the fact that most people on this board in one way or another acknowledged that we needed help, particularly on defense, then certainly you can't be basing an opinion on last year's players. If so, then of course you would have to predict 7-9.

So how do you hazard a guess without knowing not only how our new personnel will perform but the new personnel of other teams as well.

Of course, I know this leaves other factors such as transfer players, etc.

Geez Chyren, it's a message board in the middle of May without much else to talk about......you don't wanna take a stab at a prediction.....don't do it.

We will know where we stand after the Bears game IMO. That is a tough run: Vikings, Jets, Pats, Packers Pitt, Cincy, Ravens, Tenn, and Bears. Coming out of this run is the key, are we 5-4, 6-3, 7-2, or the opposites. I think on any given sunday we could lose any of these games. I didnt check but hopefully we have a bye in the middle of this run.
Like others said, if Farve is out and Big Bens suspension holds up until week 6, it looks a bit easier. But either way that is an awful lot of game planning and studying against some extremely competent teams and coaches all in a row.

Alot really depends on the impact of Brandon Marshall IMO. If we can score regularly, and Nolan and the young defense plays in the top 8 or so, we could be a well balanced team that is hard to stop. Now if Nolan can make us a great young defense and Marshall has a 100 catches and 1000 plus yards 12 plus TD's, the possibilites are extremely bright.

So much negativity. I'm about to break out my pantended "Suck it B.tch" Barrel, and light these fool's up.

"Fool's pertaining too other team's fandom"!!!

I'm going to be positive, and say 16-0!!!! whohoooo!!!!

I just can't see any team stopping our dominate run offense, with the addition of the best WR in the game!

Also our defense WILL be good enough to keep us in the games. Think of the Raven's team solid special team's, great running team, not as good as us, and we now have the better passing game, even though they picked up Boldin.

Biggest question is our coaching. Will Sparano not make so many bone-headed call's like last year.

RESPONSE: I'm not raining on anybody's parade. I'm just saying I gotta see how the new players fit and perform before making any prediction.

But then I get it from all sides. The other side is saying things like "you can't tell from preseason" and another side says "that's why they play the game" and you say "come on, take a stab."

I like your optimism! Alot is on the defense, and Marshall. Can Marshall be the difference maker in games against strong defenses. Can Nolan's Defense stop other teams early in the game, when they need to and create alot of turnovers. Can we protect the ball on offense and steal it on defense!

Well, you make a valid point here ChyrenB, taking a wait and see approach is more than fair. We are very young on defense. Almost too young. It might take 6 or 7 weeks for our defense to get its feet under them as a unit.

With that said, our defense was pretty bad last year. And we were the WORST 4th quarter defense in the NFL. We gave away a couple of games. So, if our defense is even a little less than it was last year BUT plays a little better in the 4th quarter than last years unit....I think our defense will be fine.

Miami's WHOLE season comes down to 2 things.....

1) Where is the pass rush coming from?

2) Can Hartline be a legit #2 NFL WR to take pressure off of Marshall?

@ Buffalo; Team gets off to a slow start in 17-14 win against obviously weaker team.
@ Vikes; Defense comes up big and offense is better than average, 24-10. Favre feels like he is wearing Wake's jersey.
Jets; Taylor Bowl I goes to the home team 20-10. At post game news conference Rex looks like he has dyrheticulitus as Jets are now 1-2.
Pats; Phins win from beginning to end, 34-21, Marshall explodes.
@ Packers; First loss comes in OT: 20-23. Team has players only meeting during following week.
Pitt; Ruthlesssandwich does play, but like he is castrated; 28-13 win.
@ Cincy; Henne, Marshall, Ronnie, Ricky make the Queen's city their b!t@h 38-17.
@ Ravens; Preview of AFC championship, second loss and I hope no serious injuries to this tough team, 13-31.
Tenn @ home; after last weeks experience the team gets real serious here, 28-14.
Bears @ home; All three cylinders are pumping now as special teams rocks in 34-7 route.
@ Raiders; M. Bush has strong day, but not enough as Dolphins roll 27-7.
Browns @ home; The football godz stirring now, 24-3.
@ Jets; Rex focuses in on the improved running game as NY gets a season high 97 yards rushing in the Phins win. Jets are still looking for their second win of the season.
Buff @ home; Phins ride the Buffalo's all the way home (Louis Oliver style) 27-0.
Detroit @ home: Phins starters play 3 quarters in 45-10 winner.
@ Pats; Pats locked up wild card 2 games ago and mail this one in to the phins 17-10.

Divisional play off against Denver (Tebow is having a great year, but as a Half back that passes 15% of the time) is big offensive show as phins escape 37-34.

AFC Championship: Phins over Ravens in another physical game between the two AFC power teams of the next decade: 31-17.

Dolphins avenge SBVI loss and hand the Cowboys the first SB shut out: 28-0

Parcells "retires" in April 2011; Dolphins win 3 of next 4 SBs.

Cause nobody knows anything right now ... but here's what has changed.

Bad channges:
1. Our division / schedule opponents have improved a lot (jets, balt, pack, even the raiders,)

2. Schedule early is tough and not sure we'll be ready by then

Good changes:

Defense
1. Defensive Coordinator with a plan and innovative
2. Rookies have a year behind them (CBs)
3. Much improved LB talent and scheme to use them
4. Good and strong defensive draft (biggest weak area of 09)

Offense
1. Brandon Marshall helps a lot by himself
2. Marshall also makes run and othr wrs more dangerous
3. OL will be even better this year
4. Henne will have a year of experience & pennington behind him

Overall
1. We'll be a multi-demensional team for the 1st time in years
2. Defensively will have an elite coordinator, and more talent
3. Offensively we'll have balance vs gimmick and teams will be guessing
4. Biggest Foe will be getting a winning attitiude early and winning the close games. We didn't do that last year, for a lot of reasons

Doesn't concern me in the least. Unless you're superstitious, this kind of thing doesn't really matter or translate to on the field performance. The only number I don't want to see anyone wear in a phins uniform is #13.

That one, 12, and 39 are retired, so no worries about that.

I hope the football godz are watching.

I love the stregnth I see in the front defensive 7.

I see Henne and Marshall getting it together real soon.

I see Wake and Bake comming soon. smoking smiley

I feel Ronnie and Ricky having 1,000 each.

Could we sign Dan the week before the SB and get him in on a couple plays?

I still think 14-2 is possible.

I didnt have all the games right, but after 8 I had us at 4-4, Tenn can be beaten and then we have 5 winable games (not cake walks but winable) with the Jets and Pats mixed in there (both teams we always play tough) we can easily still end up 10-6 or at the worse 9-7. Not sure why all the panic halfway through the season?

Because 10-6 and 9-7 won't make playoffs this year thats why all the panic.

Colts 5-3, Texans 4-4, KC 5-3, BALT 6-3, SD 4-5, OAK 5-3, NYJ 6-2, PATS 6-2, PITTS 6-2, Tenn 5-3, HELL even Jax is 4-4.

Mia is battling all them teams to the post season, Thats why 10-6 or 9-7 won't get you in the afc this year NFC sure.
