This is a moderated phorum for the CIVILIZED discussion of the Miami Dolphins. In this phorum, there are rules and moderators to make sure you abide by the rules. The moderators for this phorum are JC and Colonel.
Don't jump to conclusions: there isn't anything even close to evidence in this story. I know Taylor isn't Mr. SqueakyClean, but the first thing I thought was, "I wonder who set him up?" In today's America, to make an accusation is to secure a conviction-at least in the public eye. These kinds of machinations on ex-or current NFL players are very common these days. Easy money.
Let's not jump to conclusions. Even if the story is totally true, where does it say he knew that this prostitute being provided to him by a pimp was only 15 years old.
The story itself also says that it is unknown who is responsible for her bruises.
My thing is that WITHOUT KNOWING THE FACTS we should not go overboard to protect our people (Maybe Ireland was justified, maybe he wasn't) and we should not go overboard to condemn someone from outside the Miami Dolphin family.
LT's lawyer put on a show today in court. LT hired a good one!
Obviously I have no idea of what really happened, but from what I saw in court and the little information I have, I don't think LT is doing time for this. Once again maybe there are more facts that aren't out there currently which could change everything. Just giving my initial impression of the little info I have.
LT once again put himself in a bad situation and will pay some penalty though.
Beginning to look like she was a runaway and, like pimps do, the pimp gave her a place to stay, was cool, probably seemed to her at first like a dream come true, but ultimately forced her into "the game." Usually, the girl turns out to be a full-fledged prostitute. However, on rare occasions, one tries to run away and escape from the pimp. Here, this is what apparently happened. Just unlucky for LT that 1) she was underaged, which he may not have known, and 2) that she was that one out of about 20 that resists being forced into prostitution.

He was a dirtbag before any of this recent stuff came to light. Look at his rap sheet, he's a career criminal. Dirt. Bag.
Lets pretend to be serious for a moment. LT's offenses amount to a. three arrests for drug possession and b. allegedly leaving the scene of an accident. This is a "career criminal"? Do you really think that a + b = rape of a fifteen year old?
Career criminal might have been the wrong term, but I still thought he was a dirt bag before this happened. This happening just reinforced my position. It's an opinion, my opinion. If yours differs, I respect that, but don't expect me to change my mind on this because of an innocent until proven guilty mindset. Sorry, I'm just not likely to change my mind on this guy.

RESPONSE: So what made you think he was a dirtbag BEFORE?
Before this I wouldn't call the guy a dirtbag. He had a drug problem and he kicked it and has been clean for many many years. So I give him credit for that.
Obviously I don't know what happened last year totally, and that incident probably does put him in the "dirtbag" category from here on out. But up until that LT was a good guy who overame some serious issues and turned his life around for the better.
