Schwartz took over last year and that guy knows defense. Lions draft last year was great. So I find comfort in this news. Lions under Mat Millen....eeh, not so much!! lol
Or you can look at it this way, the Lions never seem to pick the right guy, and they missed this guy in the draft so if he turns out great will be another Lions could have been.......
2. Yep. Parcells strikes again. I'm tellin' ya theres a Dolphin mole in Allen Park.
As to putting a mole in the Detroit organization ... hmmm not sure they have shown the league how to draft that well over the years, but what the heck.
Imho, the Lions are a team on the upswing this year. I know, I know, lol the lions. But hey, after so many decades of failure, they're overdue..........right?

That is a tough division for them, and they draw the AFC East this year which is no help. But that is a team on the upswing and it might not be reflected in the "wins and losses" but that is a good team.
Their head coach is good. Stafford showed a lot last year, played through injuries, refused to come off the field, he has grit. Calvin is amazing and Nate Buerlson helps a lot to take the pressure off of him. Their Tight End is good. And he is revamping that defense now. In another couple years they will be legit!

I don't think I've ever seen anyone anywhere point to firing Fontes as a bad move. He was pretty terrible and I don't think got another job in the league afterwards. Plus he was in the NFC Champ game 5 years before getting canned, not the year before.
