I think they make a good point, about the money we saved from going from 12 to 28. We dont have to pay the huge rookie salary that the 12 pick would have demanded. In the predicted last year of these outrageous rookie contracts and guaranteed money, we got out of the way. That alone appears to be a smart move for the franchise, especially after the 93 million we gave up to proven players, Dansby and Marshall this offseason.
I guess it was my kool aid consumption that led me to giving a C in the other poll. Seriously, I still can't get my head around the moving down in the 4th round part of the San Diego deal. The 12th should have easily been worth the 28 and 40 alone. It was a deep draft, but not that deep. About the cash, the 12th isn't going to be that much more than 28, vs. say 1 vs. 12. I just don't see the home run here. Now, take Earl Thomas with 12 and we are talking immediate impact player and I think we move up to a B. Time will tell, but right now I am just not seeing this as the impact draft that we needed.
We had to move down in the 4th cause SD got out of the 2nd round totaly by giving us pick #40. That makes sense just giving them a higher pick in Rd 4.
Then we got Dobbins for a 6th round pick which is a STEAL!
I would say B or C for now but you can tell for about 3 years. Some of the unknowns could become solid players. Hopefully Odrick & Misi become the next JT & Seau, Edds close to Zach.
With all the TE's (NE taking 2 of the top 3-4) Are they that high on Fasano? Scheffler would have been a nice addition. Hopefully our RB core stays healthy
The Pats draft was odd in a few areas. Panthers drafted 3 QB I think?
Another place we needed to upgrqade dramatically was special teams, Hopefully Dobbins & other will help here.
Greg Olsen could still be traded in chicago. Martz goes public with his LOVE then HATE then LOVE then HATE for him. He stated his HATE for him earlier this week. Who knows how that will end.
Tight Ends for me we are fine. Haynos plays his role well. Fasano was great 2 years ago, down last year. He is in a contract year so I expect his best!
Don't worry about special teams, we just drafted a bunch of special teams MONSTERS this weekend!
Hmmmmmmmmmmm. Kiper gave us a C minus and I gave us a "D" and nearly everbody on this board jumped on me. As I say boys, its not the players, its the whole team needs, the players passed on, and all of that as a mosaic.
He really needs to stick to his guesses about "who's going where" and not try to be a talent evaluator...maybe he would have gotten a few more picks right.
He knows nothing about talent evaluation and what it takes to be an NFL player let alone who fits in what scheme.
I'm not here to defend Kiper on picks. The question is the evaluation on the draft as an overall Mosaic. That includes not only the picks, which by the way the guys we picked may well succeed, but whether it was right to go overboard on linebackers and to pass on some potentially impact guys to satiate that perceived need at linebacker.

Wake up before it's too late, MikeO.
But for the benefit of those who don't know.
Hey, Gang! MikeO posted a link to a video which he said would show that the other guy did not even take a swing at Blount.
THE VIDEO SHOWS THE GUY PUSHED BLOUNT IN THE CHEST.
I laughed at MIKEO and ridiculed him on the board for not carefully observing his own video.
Since then MikeO's escape hatch has been to focus on whether I was "defending" Blount.
Even though my original point was that there were other problems that made Blount a bad risk than this incident, which, I said, Blount never started.
MikeO, if you don't want to get embarrassed, don't respond to my posts.
You are like a person struggling in quicksand. Go down easy.

RESPONSE: I'll remember you said that during his career.

very funny, lets wait until he is actually beat out and replaced on the field not in theory. My bet he is starting right beside Dansby come opening day, and he has a strong year.
Yeah I think you are right. if he can just stay healthy, he will have his best year in 2010. Was awesome in 09...maybe more big plays this year since he won't be counted on as much and can just play.
Crowder will start the year as the starter. I don't think there is any doubt about that. But with all the new guys he will have to play his tail off to keep that job
I have read a few reports about his knee being "bone-on-bone" which if that ist he case, that's not a good thing for him going forward
