I give it a B-. The trade down was brilliant. Don't like the Carrol pick, don't like we traded up to get Edds, like the jones pick late, would rather have had Hughes at #1 and a FS or NT at #2. But I do think we added some future starters and if Starks can play NT then Odrick could be good for us at DE.

"D" The Rashod Jones pick keeps it from being an "F."

Not really, I liked Nolan Carroll. The other non-linebacker picks were so-so. But I thought you were grading the draft as a whole as opposed to its individual parts?????????????????

I like the trade down and thought the first 3 picks were solid. If you include Marshall in that group with the first 3 we killed it IMO. We got a best available pick to improve our Dline and adds depth at 28 with Odrick. At 40 , we dress a heavy need with Koa Misi. and then John Jerry was great versatile, olinemen with pick 73. Then include Brandon Marshall, in that group and we had a strong opening. Edds, Mcoy and Spitler add more youth depth and competition to the LB group. Carrol and Jones add some more youth and competition to trying to lock up a good secondary. Ricky, Ronnie, Cobb, Lex and Polite, are not causing me grave concern in the backfield.I agree on lets see how the NT position works out before we compliment the FO to much. Had Dan Williams fallen to 28, I think we would have taken him. So I am curious to see how the Randy Starks move pans out, big pressure with our opening 4 games of the season being an AFC east round robin with Farve and the vikings thrown in just to spice it up. Lackluster NT play would be a bad way to open the season and drop the draft grade quick, for we chose not to address it.

B+ on the draft alone, A+ when you add in Dansby, Marshall and Nolan

I didn't have a problem with the trade down except that we dropped too far...then we didn't get a premier player with the pick. Odrick is a bit of a tweener in that he isn't the prototypical NT nor is he the prototypical DE (he has the size but not some of the other skills you'd like to see in a first round player at DE) and is too heavy to be moved to LB...he's a work in progress at the moment. Yes he can add strength, size and speed depending on where they play him, but as is he's not the player we should have gotten in the first round.

I think we missed on every player we had targeted as a primary acquisition in the first four rounds...why? Because I think we got too cute with trades and trying to out guess the competition by trying to get our players at lower spots instead of just taking them when we had the chance.

We totally ignored the offense (a backup guard isn't enough) and as a result the unit will be the same as the one we fielded last season. Excluding Marshall, we lack explosiveness and playmakers on that side of the ball...Our offense was not good enough last year and it won't be talented, diverse enough nor fast enough this year, as a group.

I think we did a good job of adding depth, developmental guys and second tier players to make the roster deeper and wider...However, I think the guys we start from this draft will be beacuse we cut, released or traded better immediate players. Leaving us with no choice but to start them.

I really hope we get lucky with four or five of the guys we took and they end up being star players in their rookie and sophmore seasons...overall I'm not that impressed right now.

I'm not doubting his obvious talent...but, he has weight issues which suggests a lack of discipline, focus and commitment. He tends to lunge for blocks and does not always play up to the level of his natural talent..I'm all for hoping he works out because we could really use him as a young player....would have much rather had a really good skill position player though.

News to everyone if he does. Guy was SEC 1st team. Guy blocked for THREE 1,000 yard rushers in the SEC in his career
